I'm an amateur nutritionist and professional health nut. Since I'm a developer I make it a point to add brain related nutrition to my diet.

The cliche thing to say is to eat fish, but not any fish, but ocean salmon, as it's the Omega-3s you need (which are the highest in ocean Salmon). I honestly haven't eaten salmon (which I love) for 8 months as there are other sources of Omega-3. Always remember plant based vitanutrients are highly quality than animal based.

Ex: if you need proteins then soy, beans & grains are superior to meat. There's a reason why body builder shakes/powders use wheat & soy, and not meat based.

But back to my point take the following, in order of effect, to increase brain function:

Omega 3s via Salmon Oil and Flaxseed Oil
Amino Acids (this is what proteins break down into)
B Complex
Multivitamin

I may be a health nut, but I party alot, and I need all the amunition to get back the brain cells I killed on the weekend Poke tongue | ;-P
