The SetScrollInfo should work as expected as long as you provide correct info on the SCROLLINFO structure. For instance, make nMin = 0 , nMax = 0 and nPage = 1 .

My classmates and I wrote a program for a handheld scanner running Windows CE.NET 4.1. When we began working on it all we had available to work with was VB6. Now we have a copy of VB.NET. When we migrated the program from VB6 to VB.NET we found out that the program needed to be a smart device application instead of a windows application, and now most of our code doesn't work. We have 3 weeks untill we need to turn in this project and we have no idea what to do. WE NEED HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't use VB, but here is will help.
Create a new smart device application in VB.NET. Then move your source files from the old project into the directory of the new smart application project. Be sure not to overwrite any files. Then in VB.NET you can "add exisiting items" to the project. You will then need to migrate your startup code into the main file.

The procedures that we use the most in our application don't work when I copy the code over. They don't exist in the .NET Compact Framework. I found a replacement procedure and most of the program works now, but there is one section of code that I can't seem to fix:
Public Function DeleteLine(ByRef intLineCount As Object) As Boolean
Dim sr As New StreamReader(strImportFile)
Dim sw As New StreamWriter(strImportFile)
Dim ret As Integer
Dim lCtr As Integer
Dim sTemp, sLine As String
Dim bLineFound As Boolean
On Error GoTo ErrorHandler
lCtr = 1
Do While Not sr.Peek = -1
sLine = sr.ReadLine
If lCtr <> intLineCount Then
sTemp = sTemp & sLine & vbCrLf
Else
bLineFound = True
End If
lCtr = lCtr + 1
Loop
sr.Close()
sw.Write(sTemp)
DeleteLine = bLineFound
ErrorHandler:
On Error Resume Next
sw.Close()
'oFSTR = Nothing
'oFSO = Nothing
End Function
I don't know how to switch this function over to use System.IO StreamReader and StreamWriter. Someone, please help us, this project is due in about 3 weeks.

WinCE-based smartphone provides RAPI (Remote API)for remote control of device.
A way of invoking a DLL function in smartphone from PC is to call
CeRapiInvoke() function.
The barebone code looks like
CeRapiInit();
CeRapiInvoke(L"MyDLL.dll", L"Myfunc", cbOutBytes, pOutBuffer, &cbInBytes, &pInBuffer, 0);
CeRapiUninit();
In Myfunct, I put one line of code: CreateFile(...) to see if a file was created as a result.
But this is failing. I have searched for a hint or solution inside MSDN to no avail.
Other functions such as CeCreateFile(), CeReadFile(), CeWriteFile() worked properly
so I am sure the connection between PC and phone is well established.
Please give me helps.
Thany you in advance.
Best regard,
Cho

Dear all,
I have a problem when building an application for Pocket PC using eVC 3.0
Here is some code:
hr = CLSIDFromProgID(POA_OBJECT, &clsid);<br />
if (FAILED(hr))<br />
{<br />
AfxMessageBox(_T("Fail to load CLSID"));<br />
} else {<br />
hr = CoCreateInstance(clsid, NULL, CLSCTX_INPROC_SERVER, IID_IPOutlookApp, (LPVOID *) &(polApp));<br />
if (FAILED(hr))<br />
{<br />
err = GetLastError();<br />
sprintf(str,"Fail to load CoCreateInstance %d",err);<br />
AfxMessageBox((CString)str);<br />
} <br />
}
I got error message:

I solve the problem by inserting the following lines at the top of the application's header file (I include it in other files as needed):
#include "resource.h"
#include <comdef.h>
#include <pimstore.h>
_COM_SMARTPTR_TYPEDEF(IPOutlookApp, __uuidof(IPOutlookApp));
_COM_SMARTPTR_TYPEDEF(IAppointment, __uuidof(IAppointment));
_COM_SMARTPTR_TYPEDEF(ITask, __uuidof(ITask));
Then, on the application cpp file:
#include "stdafx.h"
#include "MainFrm.h"
#include <initguid.h>
#include "Application.h"
IPOutlookAppPtr g_pPoomApp;
The linker does not complain...

Hi everybody,
Thought it best to post this message here.
Iv'e been programming in VB.Net for about a year now (Mainly Windows applications). My boss now wants me to start developing mobile appliations. Just want some advice on where to start studying.
Would you suggest I continue to learn to do it in VB.Net or Embedded Visual Basic. The only reason I ask this is that there seems to be more documentation available for Embedded VB.
Many thanks

Hi
I recommed to use VB.net; there is no a big difference etween mobile and desktop apps in .et framework
eVB seems to have more docs ;
because the MSDN docs are for both .net framework and the compact framework no separation here
if u move to eVB u will be downgrading ur skills ; there is no types there [all variables are variant] no Try/Catch [just on error]

HI~
Is there any function in eVC++ which can pass some parameters to a running C# program?
"CreateProcess" can pass some parameters as a argument when a process start. However, how about the process is running?
Thanks~
