Thanks for link to this great utility
Ah, well, about 2 years ago, another CPian (can't remember who) mentioned it in the lounge. I've been using it ever since!

This is a cool tool. The guys here in work keep telling me to shut up about it and I only found it 30 mins ago thanks to marc. One thing I would love to see woul dbe the ability to drag and drop files. I might have a look at the source and see how difficult/easy it is to make the changes but I don't think it would be too hard.

Wow! And you are surfing Code Project with 3 of those monitors!

And here I thought 'Throw Disance' meant the minimum distance at which you placed your 2-year old so the food they threw at or up would not spoil the finish on your new High Definition 51" television...

On my coding boxes I have 2 19in monitors at work and 2 21in at home. I do spend some time on two workstations that I designed for research that have 3 to 5 grayscale monitors with (2048 x 2560) resolution each. My laptops only have one screen (most of the time)...

Going back to a single-monitor setup is torture--two is my minimum.
I use a dual monitor setup at work, but have four at home. I think I've reached the limit of usefulness, anything else would be a waste (to me) as I hardly ever use the fourth one. There's also the problem of fitting 4 monitors on a desk (3 are LCDs, but still...)
The next step is to get a bigger desk...anyone knows of decent furniture CAD-type software? Free, preferably?

U workstation desks work great for multi-monitor setups. I have one at work, 2x 24" sit directly front and the other two, Cintiq right, Laptop left sit on the corners. works great. Can't afford it, or fit it at home though....

I'm lucky cause I've an IBM A30p which provides a 1600*1200 native screen, and allows to connect a monitor. Very good to develop with multiples wiondows (or sql server and .net)

FWIW, another developer here has a little utility that turns remove machines (like a laptop sitting on yer desk) into another monitor, so that you can then use it like a second (third, etc.) display.
I do not remember the name of it (NetView, or something like that, I think...), but it seems interesting.
Peace!

or multiple computers.... I answered 2, because my primary computer has two... but then I stopped to think about it, the question really was "Do you use multiple monitors at work? If so how many?." I have 2 monitors, Cintiq, and a laptop. My two primary computers are linked to one shared monitor then one has the 2nd 24" the other the Cintiq, the laptop can share the one shared monitor too, but I rarely do.
I have used a 4 monitor (2x2) display for shows, but I don't use it at my desk. I will occasionally configure my computers in a shared rendering frame to test code for large monitor displays at shows, but that is rare. So although I did answer 2, I can see easily how someone can answer more.

Might be nice to have two, but I think it'd be overkill. While I often have a lot of windows open, it's rare that I am actually using more than one simultaneously... so I just maximise the one I'm using. And the "auto-hide" feature of the taskbar is pretty nice (well, until some app "swallows" it... Visual Studio and Eclipse seem to be particularly bad about that...)

It has been a while since I had a dual monitor system to use. It was a big boon for debugging. One monitor showing the debugger and source-code whilst the second monitor displayed the app. (Especially useful with DirectX and paint code)
