How do you uninstall a Windows Service without the service's binary. For instance,
installutil -u MyService.exe
Fine, as long as you have the binary. Now, what if you don't? I'm asking because Oracle Universal installer screwed up half way during the installation process and it left some installed Windows Services on my system which I can't uninstall...
btw, there IS A TOOL that can do this. I've done this some two years ago, but I can't remember what this is and where to get it... damn...

Click the first file. Hold the Shift key down and click the last file. All files in between should then be selected. Right click on the highlighted area and choose Copy. Right click the destination folder and select Paste.

Roger, Is it possible to copy the file in FTP folder via the command prompt? I think if it is possible the owner of the question copy it via MSDOS prompt.

Of course it's possible - see COPY /? for instructions. But I'm curious about what the poster reports, that Select All doesn't work. I'm running Win2K Server, have a ftproot folder full of files, and Edit/Select All works perfectly. I'm the Admin on this box, though, and the poster may not have sufficient privileges to select and move files on the machine. A chat with whoever is responsible for the server might clear things up.

Hi,
Im wondering if anyone can tell me how I can go about running 2 or 3 separate bacth files using some sort of timer feature. For eg. Run batchfile1 -> when batchfile1 finished -> run batchfile2 etc... The batch files are dependant on each other so one cant start unless the other one finishes. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Batch files can be chained. There used to be a CHAIN command, but it may be defunct now. At the end of each batch file, as the last statement, add the name and extension of the next batch file to be executed in the sequence. If you must run unattended, use the AT command to run the first in the series at the scheduled time.

call batchfile1.cmd
call batchfile2.cmd

Just write another batch file that calls the batch files you need in the correct order.
call Batch1.cmd
call Batch2.cmd
call Batch3.cmd

Hi, I have two computer in my network lab. One is running windows 2000 pro and the other on is running win2k server. Both computer connect to switch and from switch to ADSL router to share the internet and from router to broadband. The problem is win2k server machine did not display in the Network My Network Places under workgroup. The server computer can see the other computer but the other computer could not see the server computer in the list. I don't know what is the main problem. Could anybody give me any idea or suggestion to solve the problem?

In Windows XP, Microsoft offered three "skins" ranging from OK to ugly. Not only did they not provide full ability to customize these skins, but they didn't seem to document how to do so programaticly. I know the comany that makes Windows Blinds got access to the API. Does anyone know what it would take for me to get it?

MS's official position is that they are the only ones allowed to make new themes. Some folks have reverse-engineered the theme format, that's how they make their own.

1) In the second attempt towards Dekker's algorithm, is starvation possible? If there are two processes and one processor and both processes want to enter the critical section, show how one of the processes could continually enter the critical section while the other is kept out.
2) In Peterson's Algorithm, if both processes want to enter the critical section, what keeps starvation from occuring?

The second attempt?
Not wanting to sound rude, but simply pasting homework questions straight off will tend to just get you ignored.
What actually are you having difficulty with? Do you want someone to just hand you answers on a plate, or would you rather gain some insite into what Dekker's and Peterson's algorithms actually are?
If you want help with homework, that's fine, but try writing something like "I've been asked a question about Dekker's algorithm - I think I understand how critical sections work, but don't really understand what starvation means" rather than just giving us your questions straight (in this case without the rest of the course material that'd be needed to answer the questions anyway!)

What do you mean by not working? Error message display? or nothing happy and your document won't save? Try to go to Tool menu and choose Customize... command go to the Command tab and click on Keyboard... button. In the customize keybaord dialog box you will see a list of menu and its command with appropriate shortcut. You can add or remove any short cut as you want.
