I am developing an AciveXControl for connecting differnt databses.
Pls tell me the possible ways to create such a Control.

If you mean you want to write a generic control that will allow users to connect to any database, then you'd need to get the native libraries for each of those DBs. I know that MySQL and Postgres have C APIs. I dont know about SQL server and Access. Oracle has a C/C++ library too. Then people can generically use your control and your control can use the library specific to the target DB.

If I get the file path of the database(Access), is there any way to check whether any table is existing in that or not?
If yes then how is it possible to get the table name??

Yes, you can do all that using ADO. There are tutorials on this site and in MSDN. However, you seem to be contradicting yourself a bit, you should take a step back, consider what you're trying to achieve, and consider if you provide more specific information, we might be able to help you a bit more.

Me too, until he started asking how to open an Access file and check if it contains any tables.
And Lord *knows* between ODBC, DAO and ADO, we need something else.

1/ Please don't post under different names, and please don't post the same questions over and over. It just annoys people.
2/ So you want to *use* a M$ database accessing technology to create a control that accesses databases, you don't want to write your own version of ADO/DAO/OBDC ?
I did however mean exactly what do you want thins thing to do ? Do you have any prior experience using ATL ? Creating ActiveX controls ? Using ADO/DAO/OBDC ? I'm just trying to get an idea of what you're actually trying to achieve *specifically* and how much you already know about the process you're proposing.

Assuming that u are using DAO, since u refer to flat files(path to Database!)
Use CDaoDatabase::GetTableDefCount and CDaoDatabase::GetTableDefInfo
And Compare the Table Name in the CDaoTableDef::m_strName returned.

assume a windows client 's height and width is yClient,xClient,
what's the relation between the ScrollInfo structure 's member nMin,nMax and
the yClient,xClient;
assume the font's height is ftheight, the client window should contain
yClient/ftheight lines buffer(buffer[yClient/ftheight][]).
if there is already yClient/ftheight LINES buffer displaying in the client area.
when the scroll box is moved , assume member nPos in the ScrollInfo structure
amount to 1, then the buffer[0] will dispear, and the Client Area shows the buffer from the 2nd row in the buffer, and so on.
then if nPos=yClient/ftheight，the the scroll box is showed in bottom of Scroll Shaft?

I'm not sure what you're asking, but if a bitmap is 800 pixels high and the window that shows it is 300 pixels high, the scroll range will be 500, because at position 0 you see the top and at position 500 you see from 500-800, i.e. all the way to the bottom.

Hey all
Just wondering, why is it when you check ownerdrawn for Combobox controls in dialogs, the combobox appears to have grown in height when compiled and run...?
this doesn't make a huge diff, but my colorpicker combobox just doesn't fit in with his fellow brothers, cuz he's a tad larger in the vertical and i don't want him to feel outta place. Is there anyway(which i sure there is) to correct this height difference and how...?

P.S-This is only my second question posted on an online message board...i've never chatted, joined forums or anything so i'm unsure of the proper etiquette or forum ehtics. What i'd like to know is...will i be hated if i ask too many questions...?

Perhaps you can override MeasureItem. Not sure about this.

Can I add an icon resourse to a CImageList? I have added bitmaps but can I add Icons, if so how. Thanks.
