I will have to warn you that making interfaces and design by contract work in C++ leads to some really complicated code
The programmer shouldn't have to code them. You should provide classes or language constructs that can be translated by a pre-processor (much like C++ used to be translated into C in the early days; is that still the case?).
Just my two cents.

The OOTL documentation has been rewritten, and a first public release has been made of the code at http://www.ootl.org[^]
I am also currently working on an article for submission to codeproject.com.

I created a holiday Flash movie. Published it to html, htm & swf. I put the htm link into my signature slot in Outlook Express so I could put the movie at the end of my holiday greeting to my family.
I tested it by sending & receiving to myself through OE & Yahoo. The OE is fine with Yahoo the code is there, but nothing happens, plays, or even appears on the screen -- just the written text.
Any ideas on what code I need in the htm to cause Yahoo to play the swf when the email is opened?
I am stumbling blind in the dark on this one. I can't seem to find any references.
Thank you for any & all help.

how to import sql 2000 database to msde
|

Back up and restore!
Really, it is that easy. All you need is for your copy of EntManager to be able to see the MSDE server. Failing that you'll have to learn osql commands (I don't know any, sorry)

Do you mean that you want to talk to both servers at once, or just copy a database?
Normally you can use DTS for this...

What version of MSDE?
What *exactly* do you want to export from SQL2K into MSDE?
Is it a table, multiple tables, entire database, partial table?

There are so many fabulous encrypting and hashing algorithms posted in CP , but strangely no Shred modules ?!I am sure lot of people are very much interested in knowing how data recovery is done and how various shredding methods ( Gutmann, DoD etc ) delete data beyond recovery...
Another trend with the authors about these subjects in CP seems to be write the code, write a few lines on how to implement it in your own project, and over.I mean, an inexperienced guy can only copy the authors code blindly, and use it in his project even though he doesn't have a wink of an idea as what he's doing.Won't it help if a bit more lines are devoted to technical discussions and the theory being implemented, apart from the application code? The authors can also post links to sites for further reading, this can let someone actually learn, rather then just copy. They are doing a great job no doubt , but I am a bit too curious at times i guess

Hi folks
How can I "add" wav files together so that resulting wav file will be the "sum" of them?
(VB.NET or C# please)

I'd like to see a nice, clean walk through where a simple class library is created, the documentation is generated with NDoc and the setup project registers the documentation.
That would be sweet.
Thanks.

i am a beginer to socket programming, i read your article i think it the best for beginers like me, i have two questions;
1. my question is how can i assign a specific ip address to server and client for example 193.125.100.10 and 193.125.100.11 for server and client respectively.
2. 2nd question is i want the application to act as server and client simultaneously, and can chat with multiple peers simultaneously.
i will be greatful for your help, and i am sure you will help beginner like me.
thanks and bye.

I'd like to see if anyone out there has any experience in catching webdav requests to IIS and redirecting them to an ASPX page for processing. IIS handles webdav requests, but only allows you webdav on a physical windows file system. I'd like to intercept the requests and present my own custom file system to the user. Anyone done anything like this?

Not exactly - have you played with MS Exchange OWA or MS Sharepoint (full or Team Services)? Exchange has its own filesystem, sharepoint has virtual fs mapped to MS SQL server.
I think you may want to read about mod_dav_fs and mod_dav_svn as code examples. These modules are dav storage/mapping/locking plugins for appache, so they do what you want, but on different platform.

I have not played with those products but I have examined them and believe that Sharepoint uses an ISAPI filter to re-route the webdav requests to and from IIS to it's virtual file system. That's basically what I wanted to do. But I suppose if we could build a webdav server with APACHE that would work equally well as long as it ran on Win2k and 2003. I don't necessarily need to run it through IIS if I ship my own web server to do this function. The only issue will be programmatically configuring it so that I can run them both on port 80 on the same box, but with different host headers.
I will check out the apache resources. Thanks for the info.

Way back (about 4 years ago) a friend and I developed a web based HTML editor by embedding IE's DHTML control in HTML. It worked fairly nicely in that you could preview your formatting before saving/uploading to a server.
The only thing missing was a pretty Html view. We used a generic Html TEXTAREA tag and filled it with whatever HTML the user typed in. I just got another request for a feature like this. I'm wondering if there is a way to embed a FrontPage or Visual Interdev control (based on which app was installed) for an Html view. The Html view would then have pretty color formatting for elements and attributes, Html indentations, Html validation, etc. ... just like Interdev!
Anyone know what I'm talking about? This would probably make a good 3rd party control if anyone could figure out how to sub-class the MS editor. To reemphasize, I'm not talking about the DHTML control ... been there, done that.

hey there,
Is there any way to create a simple client/server program in a 16 bit (dos)
project?
I can only use this kind of mode (dos 16 bit) because the microchip i am trying to control remotely connected to the server only supports borland 5.02 DOS 16 BIT projects.
thank you for helping and any suggestions are heart-warmingly welcome!
