There is little or no documentation on this sort of stuff on the net... however, I noticed there is something in the SDK...
If you get something working, please let me know!
I'd like to see what can be done!

Hallo,
I am doing research on what a software developer would find useful in a mobile PDA.
Do you mind droping your opinion?

Your question is verbalized cloudly.
For the software developer it's the challenge programming within a new technology environment.
What is useful in a mobile PDA ? Only customers and standard users ask this and not a developer

Hi, I'm trying to use a thread in my app. I have read about in this web. I see that a thread must be associated to a dialog to show its variables. Now I use "AfxBeginThread" in the InitDialog and works for one dialog.
But I have several dialogs, and I want to show a thread's variable in the active dialog, not only in one of this. I need to resume or supend the thread from the active dialog, too. I'm trying but I can't do it. Anyone knows which is the best way to do it, or any sample where I can see about it? I have tried to do a extern pointer to the thread but I have a link error...
Thak you in advance.
Regards,
Javier

Well if you don^t want to use global vars, you could put your thread-object into your main class (the one derived from CWinApp). The object is then reachable by all dialogs through AfxGetApp() (cast this to the correct type).
Also you could use a singleton class with the Thread object as variable... This might be the best solution..

Hello
Does anyone knows how to control a camera for a PocketPC from a program?
Any manual or tip would help.
I'm looking for a way to get video stream from a camera in any documented format.
Thanks in advance

I encountered the same problem.
If you go here:
http://www.veo.com/downloads/download.asp?software=sdkPocketpc
you will find an SDK. I'm trying to use it because apparently the Veo Photo Traveller is the oem version of the HP Mobile camera...
it's a start, but I haven't gotten very far.
Let me know if you get it to work!

It's even better then I've expected!

Thanks again!

I have developed one such control (for MFC) and will publish it soon.

Hi Paulo,
I'm curios about it when you have published it. But I wonder how many lines you need for this project, because the author only need to make a few changes.
|
|
|
|
|
My control is written in C++ / MFC. It takes more than two lines of code to produce this, but it gives you a lot of control over what is happening.

Hi, I need to use the same thread for several Dialogs. I do it for one dialog and it works, because I associate it with this dialog. But If I want to use it in another dialog, ¿How can I do it? How can I associate it with several dialogs?
Another question: How Can I use a member class dialog variable in another Dialog code?
Thanks.

Javier

That may be a questionable programming practice. Isn't there any other place where you can put that variable that is accessible to all dialogs?

Yes, sorry, I only need two variables managed in the thread that they could be accessible from all dialogs, and I need to resume or to stop the thread from a button in any dialog.
How can I do it? I only need to know to make accessibles threads variables(or member variables) or something else.
Regards.

Try a global object. Not a clean solution, but works.
