Validate how? Telephone numbers have different forms in different countries, so you need to decide which ones you want to check.

Solution 1

I suggest searching google for an already-built tool that can do this. It's quite complex when you have to consider all the different possible format and different country codes, etc.

You may want to just leave it as a textbox if you need to support many different international types.
