sharepoint server 2010 installation

Hi,

1)Installed VM ware Work station.
2)Created Virtual machine and installed Windows server 2008 R2.
3)Installed Sharepoint server 2010.

Till now everthing gone well.

Now from the start menu when clicked on Sharepoint 2010 Central Administration.

Windows Security windows popups with user name and password. i have created a new user and logged in with the password. but nothing works.. Except a blank Internet explorer window.

Wts wrong.. why in coudnt go in sharepoint central administration.

Please advice,

You need to make sure the user is a member of the Farm admin group, which the account used to setup SharePoint is added by default
