Using rss feed in a wpf desktop application

Is it possible to make use off an rss feed in a wpf desktop application using the C# language?

I want to have current weather conditions show up in my application but i have no idea on how to achieve this. i looked at some stuff on the internet but im confused. Can anyone help. Perhaps point me to some good tutorials? also, how does an rss feed work? if you add it to your app, does the information update automatically?
