XML file in IM Client using agsXMPP

i have followed this above tutorial for making my own IM client,but wheni ran that code, it did not give any output, i logged in using a gmail id but on my contacts list, i got no presence of that id. I have made no changes in the above code.

I also want to know he procedure for making a XML file for the IM cliet.
