How to view any file in any browser in Asp.net?

Hi,
I want to view any file like .doc,.text,.pdf,.ppt in the browser(Internet Explorer, Firefox,etc).
When I upload the file I have saved it in the application folder as well as in the SQL server database. When I login to the application I will view the file and when I click on the file it should be opened in any browser.
Is it possible to edit the file in the browser?
Can anyone help me out with this?

There are some contradiction between "I want to view any file like .doc,.text,.pdf,.ppt in the browser" and "Is it possible to edit the file in the browser?" So clear what do you want to do exactly, please.
