grid view row width should be constant

hi,
i am using gridview, in the gridview when i click on edit row.
the user is allowed to enter the text timm 100 character.
So once user enter the 100 Charcter and click on save button .
my grid view look feel changes , because i am not able wrap the text in taht row.
i am using template field where user enter text.
how can i wrap the text and gridview should not change its alignement?

set the width of gridview and also set the width in ItemTemplate style.

i tried giving the grid view fixed length . and also the itemtemplate some fixed length, but it is not working.
