Modalpopupextender is not coming on the screen

In my ASP.NET application, on aspx page i have one linkbutton which is targetcontrolID of modalpopupextender. After page loading first time it is working fine means modalpopupextender is coming on screen by clicking linkbutton. If on same page i have entered all data and click linkbutton. Then modalpopupextender is not coming on the screen.Every time I click on linkbutton, modalpopupextender should come on screen. How to do this?
