sessionstate is giving error

when i am writing

<sessionstate mode="Inproc" timeout="2"></sessionstate>

into web.config file then it is showing unrecognized session state error.

Please make sure that you place it under system.web section and not directly under configuration section.

I think the problem with the property case sensitive try to use the following way, sessionState mode="InProc" timeout="20". Hope it will solve the problem.

If you are still facing the problem then take a sample application then it default display some of the properties like sessionstate and all. Try to copy it from there.
