restoring database in sql server

Dear friends i got a problem when restoring my database. it is 90% completed successfully but remaining 10% will not complete. pls tell me what was the problem and how can i solve that?

no it's not giving any error. only restoring process not completed. only 90% completed then it take more time i.e. more than 1/2 hr but not completing its 100%.

How large is the backup file you're restoring? If it is big, it could take a while to complete the restoration. How long did you wait for it to complete?

it is 24,642kb in size. and i tried 4 to 5 times to restore my database. and it's not giving any error. only restoring process not completed. after 90% it was not processing to completing its 100%. i was wait for 1/2 hr but no result....

There could be many reasons: You may have some open connection on the database.

First, right-click the database and click "Detach". It will open a "Detach Database" dialog box. In the box, it will show you list of database and some checkboxes and message column. DO NOT click any checkbox or OK.
In the message column, it will show you link which will read "2 Active Connections". If there are any active connection naturally, the process will not succeed.

If this is production or staging database of your project, be careful before doing anything else and talk to DBA.
