how to find text and value of the ajaxtool kit combo box editable dropdown in javascript

hi,
I have a ajaxtoolkit editable dropdown (combobox) ,I bind the combobox in the page load ,when i select an item in the combobox and check the selected value of the combobox,in the codebehind ,i get some valuefield some integer value,when i write any text in the combo and check the selected value, i get the text which i have written.
I want the same functionality in the javascript ,but here I am not able to get its value ie integer value ,i am getting only the text value.
