insert and modify data in xml fie using javascript

hi all
i have an xml file saving some data in it like below:

<accounting>
  <id>ACCOUNTING</id>
  <name>Mateo Blanco</name>
  <title>SUPERVISOR</title>
  <phone>713.444.2222</phone>
  <email>mb@email.com</email>
  <headshot>images/picture2.jpg</headshot>
</accounting>

and i need to know how to insert new account , update and delete existing one but using javascript

any help....
