ILE C++ is a compiler produced by IBM , This compiler has a function called SRCFILE.

SRCFILE() is defined as follows:
“The name of the file that you reference on the #include directive in the source program.
The output file is generated in the Data Management file system. “

but the description isn't clear.
Can you explain more how this function works and how it is related to “the Data Management file system” , please ?

What I have tried:

I tried to understand how SRCFILE as a function is used for programming and what's meaning of “the Data Management file system” in related to the SRCFILE.

So, IBM systems (this was the AS400 system) store files differently in ones you may be familiar with. Source files are stored as fixed length records, not streams of text. The src... functions (such as srcupdate) allow you to interact with these files.
