How to check ftp free space so that i could copy my excel file into ftp,if not my requirement is to get ftp space error ..plz help?

As far as I know, there is no FTP command to get the information you required. If you have control over the FTP server then maybe you can do modify the welcome message or something else to display the available space.

You may get different error when the server run out of space depending on the type of ftp server you're using. It will not always be "..run out of space..." kind of error. It can be as simple as "Copying file to server failed..." when the server actually run out of space.

What you can do is to check the server available space directly and not through FTP. How to do this will be different according to the type of OS the server is running.
