Generating Crystal Reports Based on Condition

well i am working on a medical application wherein i want to print report of a selected patient.
my queries are
1) how to pass the patient id from one form to the form holding the crystal report
2) how to generate report of only that patient whose ID has been passed, is there any method to fire sql queries manually in crystal reports?
plz help
