Gridview template field control losing value after postback

I have a gridview contains an item template field holds label control. the value of the label control is set programatically. but the value missing from label when another post back happens. how can i hold the value in label control without losing after post back. Please note the label control not created dynamically..
Please anyone help me in this...

can you post your code what have you tried before

and check binding grid code write not under (!Ispostback)

i think it is the case of page post back causes some other actions from the same page.but should this grid hold the value which i assigned ? .i am not created the control in gridview dynamically...

this code i used but after postback the label doesn't show the text which i assigned.
