There is no need to do anything. If the combobox is empty then it cannot show any value.

Solution 1

Add a default item to the combo box and display it as first item or default item.
For Example if it is a
Country combo:
Add
Select Country in the combo item and display it.
State Combo:
select state in the combo item and display it.
