How to access Devexpress silverlight grid control unbound checkbox column value?

I have tried the following

After ticking the check box in the run

object o = dataGrid_topPropAssign.Columns[6].CellTemplate.LoadContent();

This returns checkbox as the object. But the IsChecked property is false irrespective of whether i ticked or not.

Any ideas asap will be appreciated.
