First of all, this is not a good place to discuss on this. This discuss can go big and I suggest you to post this in some other message boards in Code Project.

Next is, if you planning to do a certain project, you must be having something in your mind. If you are working for a client, then client must have provided some requirements. Review then thoroughly.

If you don't have anything, then go through the web and find out what this system exactly does. Identify its basic functions. Then go through the basic process of Software Design and try to build it.
