How many percents of the users have at least .NET Framework 2.0 ?

Hi all,

There is an old but still an actual question that stops thousands of developers and corporations to write WinForms solutions - how many percents of the users have at least .NET Framework 2.0 ?

As I know, the installation is a matter of choice, so this issue might affect the end users, expecting to see and use your software immediately with no effort or waiting. People want fast setups so if you offer a demo app that is 3MB, the user must download at least 28MB additionally.

Any ideas, suggestions and official actual statistics are highly welcome and thanks in advance .

Solution 1

Well, the question depends on your target clients. May be some of us have better leverage of setting minimum requirment of .NET framework. May be others have to worry such trivial things.
