Is that to the question about your original comment being Monty-Python-esque, or to the question I deviously placed after my signature in my previous post?

I've found that if you sleep in installments, your body and mind are fooled into thinking that you've getting enough sleep.
4am - 6am and then 3pm - 5pm is what I typically do.

Amazing. I thought that I was the only one. For 2 1/2 years, I lived on 2 hours at night and 1 1/2 hours in the middle of the day. Of course, I did sleep 10-11 hours Saturday nights to make up for it.

Yep. 2-4 hours M-F and then ALL DAY on Saturday if possible.

Well, up until 8 months ago, I would get 8 hours of sleep or so. Now, I have an 8 month old daughter so I don't get as much as I use to.
So my lack of sleep isn't from programming, unless you consider a little daughter who's programming me......

Typically 8 hours, although it depends. I've read that sleeping 7 to 8 hours a day is optimal for your body - any more or any less isn't as good.
I tend to find that true... sometimes if I sleep in, I feel like crap the whole rest of the day. And, of course, if I don't sleep that much, I feel like crap as well.
Anyone else besides me take naps during the day?

How do you take a nap? At work I could never get away with this?

Yeah, it was much easier before I had an office mate.
Seriously though, for me naps are usually on the weekend. I'll have an occasional late weekday nap if I feel I need it, leave work a little early, take a nap, and then either to back to work or to the gym or what not.

It depends somewhat on the amount of exercise you do as well. I often need up to 10hrs sleep to perform optimally.

Yeah, I've definitely found it's a bad idea to try to do strenuous exercise after having little sleep...

Often I am into bed late after midnight and up again at 5:30 am. Sometimes it is a little bit hard to start into the day, but usually there are no problems. On weekends I am lazy and get up at 7:30 am, but the big part of the weekend is spent with my family.
Erik.
