All answer #7 first: The entire site is being rewritten (and is, in fact, currently in beta) in ASP.NET. A massive ground up rewrite that has taken a year and was done in order to finally get over the hurdle of ASP

Any place where we can see this "insane" suggestion list? Just the one's you're willing to consider. If posted someplace public, perhaps the suggestions could be fine tuned. But most importantly, I'm eager (and curious) to see the intended suggestions.
I'm sorry if im asking the obvious or the already answered, Is the beta available (will be available?) for public testing?

Unfortunately not.
If I make it public then
a) everyone will get more ideas and it will inflate x 5
b) some will argue over what should be done first
c) some will complain about how long it's taking for feature X to be completed
d) We ruin the surprises

I just submitted an article and it didn't upload my screen shot. Is the article submission wizard broken?
Also, I went to modify the article (when I noticed my file upload didn't appear to upload) and the data entry page appeared to want to cut off my title and description, so I canceled out of the modify.

And yes, the image is no wider than 640 pixels.

The upload was there but the reference to the image in the article was incorrect. I've fixed it, wrapped your code, set your PRE block language correctly, tagged your variables, checked the typre pressure and filled the washer fuid reservoir.
Should be good to go

Hmmm...
Was there seriously that much wrong with it?
I created the article body in a text editor, and it displayed just fine (except for the image part evidently).

No, there wasn't much but there were a few things such as the code in the PRE tag being too wide (causing scrolling) and the PRE tags not having Lang attribute (so the colorizer couldn't do it's thing - not that the colorizer is 100% at the moment). Also ensure you enter width/height tags for images - it stops the page resizing with a jerk when the image is actually loaded

PRE tags - I'm working on a 22-inch wide screen monitor, so it's kinda hard to determine what an acceptable width is regarding the code in a PRE tag. I also didn't know about (or forgot about) the language attribute.
Images - perhaps the article submission wizard could automagically determine the width/height of the uploaded image, and include it in the img tag. It may already do this but I deleted the default content of the article and substituted it with my own. Maybe on the content editing screen, there could be a dropdown/button that injected the appropriate markup at the cursor position in the edit field (kind of like the quoting functionality we have now).
In any event, I'll try to do better.

The editor window itself is sized so that if it doesn't scroll there, it won't scroll when viewing an article live.

It does this if you use the image button on the toolbar, and there's also a link next to uploaded images (just above the editor) that you can click to insert an image with all the right fixin's
I'm always after ways to make this easier...

Each of the article has its own messageboard in CodeProject. Isn't it? This can be roughly compared to a blog post alongwith its tailing comments section.
I just thought it would be good if 'Total Number of Comments: <number>' can also be displayed. To extend it further, we can have it as a hyperlink to Comment Break up page (optionally viewable only by Article Author/Administrator' to display the following breakups:
1) Feedbacks
2) Feature Requests
3) General Queries
4) Abuses [Anyway we have a good Community Voting system, which would protect us from this item by fading it away over the course of time].
5) Praises/Testimonies
I feel that this should be an enormous value addition for articles and can be a good measure for the Author to improve himself right?

I'm going to throw the beta site at him this week to give him an entirely new set of bugs to find and suggestions to make while in turn giving the site (at least the suggestions form) some serious load testing
