Most people who post here at CP when chatting in the lounge etc are not being very serious. I think we need a new icon Chris! A "Take me seriously" icon. How about a nice stern face?

that is terrible.
to my knownlegde,as large as yahoo.com can not realize
such projects.
but i think according to culture difference and time difference and register members number statistic of country,we should have more lounges such as euro lounge, india lounge, china lounge, etc!

I dont like this idea at all. It'll split up the poster population on the basis of language
The soapbox is already multilingual. Colin and some dudes had a german thread yesterday. Me and Kannan had a Tamil thread.

I agree. The first thing that'd happen if we got multi-lingual boards would be someone writing a proggy to suck them through the fish and we'd be right back where we started, except now instead of non-english speakers doing the bad translations, it'd be babel.
Oh, and sooner or later someone would try to post in a language they didn't know, using babel to translate, and it'd get all messed up, so while they intended to post "The answer to your question on how to kill a process is to thunk into native code" but it'd come across as "You question my answer process? I'm gonna thunk you 'till iv'e killed your native head!". And then all hell would break loose. (because it was a programming question).

Or better yet, you just select what language you want to use and everything is automatically translated.

Its fun to take a simple sentence and run it through babel fish many times; then convert it back to English and see what you get back

From a chat with Martin Marvinski in the Lounge we agreed that an audio feed from CP would be great.
{ yes I actually agreed with Mr Markinski about something )
I realise that MS has its .NET show or whatever but I find it inconvienient, chunky and darn slow. Also it lacks variety. The presenters always saying "You see this menu option here", but that frame was conveniently dropped in the streaming.
Anyone else see a use for a brief weekly radio show, especially the SysAdmins ?
And yes I would be prepared to assist in developing and running it.

Kewl so thatz 3 outta over 40'500 CPians
Things I'd suggest would be interviews with named MSofties
and CPians about happening technology.
Updates of new articles at CP.
Personally what I like about audio coverage is that you can normally have it in the background and do your regular functions thus you are multitasking.
AV dominates your attention and workspace far too much.

Radio!? When there is streaming video..
Btw.
I think all members on CP should get videocameras installed at home
and at work so you can check in on them and see if they are
at least trying to answer the questions.
Or at least are doing something that is relevant to the codeproject
and not something else....as having a real life.

I suggest streaming some cool programming music so we can get in the zone before and after each broadcast.

Nice option, I think that the leading thread is hard to find in the mass; it should have a blue background.
