Would it be too stressful for the server to replace < & > with < & > in posts and articles for code inside <pre> & <code> elements?
It would make life a lot easier for people who write the code and for those who're trying read other peoples code who hasn't used < and >.

If you're at it, disable smileys inside
tags as well...

There's the "Display message as-is" checkbox for this.
Some people like to include markup inside <pre> tags

You mean notifications to your articles or notifications as to replys to your messages?
There was a big fat bug in the article notification thing that was due to VBScript's IsNumeric function telling me that 13809 wasn't a numeric value. I have no idea why it's doing this or for how long it's been doing this (roughly since the time of W2K SP3 I'm guessing) but it's been fixed.
Message replies to messages are coming through loud and clear for me (not that that's saying anything...)
cheers,
Chris Maunder

I was about to post the same question, yesterday Friday 13th! I was not getting article notifications, and a couple of days ago, I am sure(?) that I was not getting "Message replies to messages" in the forums. But I am sure I was the other week, it could be me as I am new to these forums!
Keep up the good work.

Heh.
Look, Chris asked if it was notifications from your articles or notifications about your replies that you weren't getting. And you said, yes that's the one I'm not getting. So I just jokingly asked which one are you not getting? Notifications from articles, or replies to messages?

Some weeks ago I noticed that h3 headings: subhead had become orange like the h2 headings: head It could have been intentional, but looked more like an accident.
The two levels are still distinguished by type size, but I thought using bold black for the subheads allowed them to stand out without getting the whole article too orange. At least they used to be black as I remember it.

The style sheet hasn't changed but it will. I find that the orange heading isn't so good on laptop LCD monitors so for my own sanity I'll be making the headings darker.

In the wizard the step where you can upload files comes last.
After that step the article is switched live immediately.
The preview button is on the page before.
From my perspective it would make sense to put a preview as the last step. This would enable the author to check all file links and images.
Alternatively some sort of "article posted but not live" feature would be ok as well. Then you could check everything and switch it live after that.
Just my 2c

The "My Articles" link doesnt work anymore. The target page does not show the articles, instead is blank and needs input.
I also wonder why is it "VS.NET for $799" but "MSDN from $1,950" ??

VS.NET for $799 means it costs $799, MSDN from $1,950 means there are many prices, the lowest being $1950.

1. I think the following boards needs to be moved to "Non-programming related discussions"
Work Issues / Certification / Resumes
Collaboration / Testing
Article Requests and Ideas
General Discussions
2. If you visit WhoisWho page [^]
Messages Posted (while logged in) "xx" It shows all messages count.
Instead of this, there needs to be two types of filtering
Programming Messages Posted (while logged in)
Non-Programming Messages Posted (while logged in)
By this we can weigh the particular person's strength. We ever answered more questions should be given extra points (towards the Medals), as a token of appreaciation.

Yes, but you can answer crap to a lot of programming questions, thus not be strengthful, and get a good medal. But I agree, this could be a solution if people play the game, as usual.

Instead of medals, It's better to give something like MVP title or Code Project Guru

I probably answer more non programming qu's by a large factor. And now when I do answer programming Qu's I use a dummy account. The reason being : reception of a lot of unsolicited emails requesting homework to be done. etc.
I know a couple of other CPians get the same.
