Good idea but only if you have, say, 10 questions a day. If I get 1000 emails a day from CP, I will be frustrated as hell.
Have you ever considered the number of questions asked at CP in a day? If you respond saying tags can be used as filter, how many people use appropriate tags?

It would be usefully to extend the stats chart with the download counter.
The count axis could be placed on the right side.

Couple of gripes...
I use the Galaxy Tab to view the site and it is ok, all is readable etc.
However, there is no option to vote.
Bug/Feature?
Secondly, if I click on the 'Full Site' option, it reloads the current page in the full version, (incidentally, this includes the Voting option), but as soon as I navigate to another page, it reverts to the mobile version.
Bug/Feature?
First one is an inconvenience, but the second is an annoying and hateful thing.
I was casting a baleful, basiliscan eye over it and tutted quite loudly!

Cool that you now get points for people downloading your code. And that the texts are fixed. But It would be really neat if you could see which article people downloaded code. So my suggestion is that is is written in the Item text.
In the sample above, for the forum it's written "Forum message" And then the subject of the forum post. I would suggest something like this:
27 Apr 2011 6:26 PM Source code or demo file downloaded Author Object Associated File: The Title of my fabulous article 5
27 Apr 2011 3:31 PM Post a General Forum Message Debator Forum Message Re: Be a hollywood-type hacker! 1

I recently noticed that my friend's mother, who gets email newsletters from her church group, would open these newsletters in her browser, which allowed her to zoom the text size (since her vision is not too good). She could do this because at the very top of the newsletter, there would be a small message "Trouble viewing? Read this issue at somesite.com.", which was a clickable link, that took her directly to the newsletter web page.
This seems to me like an excellent feature to add to all the CodeProject newsletters.

It's already there. There's a "View Online" link at the top of the newsletter.

It is!
Didn't see it before. Hmmmm. Where's that zoom button?

Can't you do this with your email-client? Just press the Ctrl-key and turn the mousewheel.

There is currently a "Javascript" forum. I believe it should be written as "JavaScript" (see here).
|
|
|

I followed the link you posted out of my usual curiosity and it confirmed my intuition that Javascript is indeed the correct labeling of said forum.
Why on god's earth would you want to use a trademarked term?
Feel free to elaborate on this!

You mean like "Visual C#" or "The Code Project"? Just because something is trademarked does not mean you cannot reference it by its name. Just means you can't use that name for your own purpose (e.g., you can't create a commercial programming language that you call "JavaScript").
|
|
|
|
|
No I meant what I said. Javascript is perfectly Ok so there is no need to use the trademarked "JavaScript" term nor any reason to do so.
Cheers!
|
|
|
|

Because "JavaScript" is the correct form. Using "Javascript" instead is like using "WpF" instead of "WPF".

Hello, I got the message under my article, that it is not possible to download the attached example.
I have tried it in myself, and the download really did not work. Instead of the 'Save Dialog Box', I got the "empty" page.
e.g.: http://www.codeproject.com/KB/Blogs/185318/EncryptedCommunicationWP7.zip[^]
I have checked also my other articles and I got the same problem. I also tried articles of other authors - same problem.
It seems the download stopped to work for 'Technical Blog Articles'. When I tried some 'Code Project Article', the download worked.
Please, could someone checked this issue?

Really sorry about this.
Working on fixing it now
Should be good now.
