Has the hamster in charge of sorting the Insider News forum been at the fermented seeds again?
At the moment, the top posts on the first page are in the following order:
- 15 hours 44 minutes ago;
- 4 × 7 hours 3 minutes ago;
- 23-Jun-17 22:28
- 6 × 7 hours 3 minutes ago;
- 23-Jun-17 1:47
- (The rest seem to be in the correct order.)

Seems good now.
I wonder if you were on server #4. We've been testing a new redis server so it may have had data from the wrong server.

A few posts are still showing out-of-sequence for me.
- 20hrs 37mins ago: Facebook, Microsoft, Twitter, and YouTube launch anti-terrorism partnership
- 11hrs 13mins ago: The Elgin rectangle: why couldn't people lock their cars in Carlton?
- 25-Jun-17 20:19: Google on track for quantum computer breakthrough by end of 2017
- 26-Jun-17 5:00: Codeshapes
- ...
- 26-Jun-17 5:00: TEO the robot shows off ironing skills
- 23-Jun-17 22:28: 32TB of Windows 10 internal builds, core source code leak online
- 26-Jun-17 5:00: How GitHub employees use GitHub for projects beyond coding
It seems to be OK after that.
Strangely, the message IDs seem to be in the right sequence. Have some of the dates been changed after posting?

It seems that every day this week when I pop in to see what's going on, every post in every group is tagged NEW even when I saw all of them the day before. Don't really know if it's a bug but I wanted to mention it.

Might be a problem with cookies or blocked scripts.
Have you any active blockers?

While I do run NoScript for Firefox, the only scripts not being allowed on this site are for Google Analytics.
AdBlock Plus seems to be blocking one script: cdn2.developermedia.com/a.min.js
The NEW tags on all the posts do disappear shortly after logging in and then consistently identify new posts correctly.

And that's to go whereever the main menu ("disscusion", for example) item takes you. So I don't know if "bugs/suggestions" really exists unless I scroll down and find it where I think it is.
Because the drop-down DOES show me that it could be down there somewhere, I'll do the above if warranted. But this is like not knowing neli is four! Even IE8 allows me to right-click and capture a drop-down (line) to use a mouse on it to get to it's page.
Granted, firefox has only been nagging me for a couple of months to upgrade from 53.4 so it might be me ... but ... nothing; the menu never freezes, is never captured by mouseover, no nothing.

|
|
|
Which version of firefox are you using?
It's very, very hard to try and cater to all versions, especially when they change so often, when they have occasional bugs, and when third party libraries (eg jQuery) drop support for older versions.
Try upgrading and let me know if the issue persists.

Ok,
Next time it asks ...

A bit more info: On FF 52.2.0 (Vista ), it happens to me, generally not on initial load, but after I've been cruising the page for a bit. If I am really quick with the mouse jumping from the hover that calls up the dropdown to the body of the dropdown, it works; if I'm normal speed or slow, the dropdown vanishes before I get there. (Took me a while to figure out the workaround.)
FF 54.0 (Win7) is fine.
Cheers, Peter

Just tried to share a link to a PDF file in the Lounge. Looks like the website tries to fetch it to generate the nice title when you paste, and somehow never returns. Might be due to the files' size, but would be nice to have the option to paste the link as-is.
