In the thumbnail drawing code, you need to position the thumbnails to achieve that result.

If there are a lof images under that directory, it could take a while for the program to enumerate the image files. I should have put a hour glass there so you know it is working on something. I have a new demo project which uses GDI+ to render images in various formats. I'll update the project files soon. In the mean while, I'll e-mail you the new demo.

You need to implement OnCustomDraw() method of list control to do that. There is an article in codeguru.com about it. The link is: http://www.codeguru.com/listview/CustomDraw.shtml

Hi, I used your code. Very nice thanks.
Problem:
I have images that are of different size. Those that are smaller
then the imagelist default height, will be filled with black color in the bottom of the image.
One solution is to set the background of the listcontrol to black,
but it doesn't look good.
How can I change the black color?
To white for instance?
I have tried :
::PatBlt(hMemDC, 0, 0, THUMBNAIL_WIDTH, THUMBNAIL_HEIGHT, WHITENESS);
But it made no difference.

In one of my applications, there are images with size 640x480, and 560x700, I resize them to 100x70 first, then put them in the image list. I guess you can resize (enlarge) your small images to the size of the image you want in your image list, add them to the image list, and then show them. You can use any Windows GDI function to perform the resizing. This way, you don't need to change the background. It is hard to change part of the pixel values after creating them.
