Help! How to insert icon/image next to menu item?
|
|
|
|
|
this isn't supported in the current incarnation of the winform menuitem, but i believe i read somewhere that it will be supported in v2.0 of the framework.
for now you'll have to subclass the menuitem class and owner draw the menu's yourself. there are tons of examples of how to do this all over the net.
here's an article here on cp that exlpains how to do this and here are the results of a search in the microsoft .net vb language newsgroup.
hope this helps.

does any one knew how to add description about the parameters in the function and about function, just like microsoft has did for its in built function.

It's not support by Visual Basic.NET 2002 or 2003. It is in 2005, though.
You'll need a 3rd party tool to generate the .XML documentation files needed by Intellisense. Liucky for you, one exists right here: VBCommenter PowerToy[^].

I want to dispaly my boolean variables in my crystal report in checkboxes checked or unchecked.
Do you have an idea how i can accomplish it.
Thank you in advance
|

what i typically do in this situation is add an image (checkmark, or checkbox would do) to the report in the place where i want to display the boolean data and only show it if my field value is true.
this should work for you.

What application generated the .DBF file?
It may seem like a stupid question, until you look at this[^]...

..!!! I've seen the page you linked, correct question!
well, I'd like to read/write shapes'attributes (arcview shapefile attribute table file) and a sample project to start from, even in c# would be great.
cheers!

Your question really has nothing to do with VB.NET. Try posting your question in the ASP.NET[^] forum.

Wat do u mean it has nothin to do with vb.net?? my code behind is vb.net and my webpage is in asp.net the database is oracle.

You'd have the exact same problem if you wrote your site in any language. What your asking is specific to the ASP.NET technology.

I'm trying to use OnBuildProjConfigDone.
In Macro IDE I clicked on my Macro project -> EnvironmentEvents then I selected OnBuildEvent and OnBuildProjConfigDone
I added the line as follows:
Private Sub BuildEvents_OnBuildProjConfigDone(ByVal Project As String, ByVal ProjectConfig As String, ByVal Platform As String, ByVal SolutionConfig As String, ByVal Success As Boolean) Handles BuildEvents.OnBuildProjConfigDone
MsgBox("I'm alive!")
End Sub
But when I build any project no message pops up.
The same procedure for OnBuildDone, OnBuildProjConfigBegin and OnBuildBegin works as expected.
What's wrong ?
I need OnBuildProjConfigDone to test Success variable.
Is there another way to test a succesful build within OnBuildDone ?
Thanks.

I've never written an extension for the IDE, but after about 5 minutes of research on MSDN, it looks like you can check the DTE.Solution.SolutionBuild.LastBuildInfo() property, in your OnBuildDone event handler, to see how many of the projects in the current Solution failed to build properly.

Yes, you're right! It works perfectly.
Unfortunatly I found out that OnBuildDone is fired one time after all project have been build. I need an event fired at the end of each project build.
I really don't understand why OnBuildProjConfigDone does not work. It exists exacly for that purpose.

is there a VB6 function that does numerical differentiation??
|
|
|
|
|
No. You'll have to find a Math library that supplies the functions you want or write them yourself. No, I don't know of any... try Google.

I want to connect datagrid with a datareader.
dim dr as datareader
--

datagrid1.datasource = dr
it is not working...
A sample code will be more helpful.
Thanks

You can't do that. If you read the docs for the DataSource[^] property, you'll find that it works with any DataTable, DataView, DataSet, or DataViewManager objects, or any object that implements the IListSource or IList interfaces. DataReader is not one of them.
You use the DataReader object to fill a DataSet, then you can bind the DataSet to the DataGrid as a DataSource.

check the code I inserted (bold line) You declare the datareader, and you set the data grid source to that, but you never assign any data to the data reader. Hope this helps!
dim dr as datareader
dr=datasource (from spreadsheet, or database, or whatever)
datagrid1.datasource = dr

Hi,
I am trying to read a formatted data file using streaReader from a simple project which has three forms. When I type the statement, it says variable (streamReader) not defined. Imports system.io statement is there in first form code. I would appreciate any clues.
Thanks
