Posting the code was the right move. Posting a follow up question because you didn't get a reply within 10 minutes is not going to help your cause, and floods this board needlessly. I don't know anything about TAPI, but as you're not paying for help, you've no right to do more than wait until someone who does decides to help you.

back in vb6 days one would fire off a query and loop thru the results in a do--while loop ... is that still done in vb.net? if not then how do i iterate over a dataset that has been filled up? can i use foreach() over a dataset? does it return a row in each iteration?
thnx

In C# it's
foreach ( DataRow row in dataset.Rows)
Change to tinkertoy syntax for use in VB.NET

Dim row as DataRow
foreach row in dataset.Rows

yah i think its cos im using a dataset instead of a datareader (whatever) so im retooling to use datareaders that have a .read method
*sigh*
vb sure hasnt gotten any better from getting .NOTTED

Oh, it's a DataSet ? Then you need myDataSet.Tables(0).Rows, rather than myTable.Rows.
DataReader is good for a forward only cursor, definately better resource wise, but no good for returning data from a data tier.

No, VB is still crap.

yah i just figured out that datasets can hold whole databases in effect so one would have to specify which table one wanted to iterate over ... i changed it to use datareaders cos im just pulling data out from join queries to write to an xml file based on a different schema
thnx though

Sounds like this is pretty much all of the project. I'm interested, how do you use MFC in VB.NET ?

Well, rather than posting 'my time has run out and I have no idea what to do' ( which equates to 'write this for me ), why don't you post some code and explain where specifically you are having trouble ? If you're not at a point of being able to post something, then you're not at a point of being able to ask for help.

A real traffic light, or one you draw ? If you're drawing one, just change the colour of the brush you draw it with.

Wow - this is great. What car ? What time ? What on earth are you talking about ? Have you written any code at all ? Or are you just reading the assignment off the sheet, having done no work during the time allocated ?

Is there a quick and dirty way of making an application have the ability to go "fullscreen". Thanks
|
|
|
|
|
Sure - just change the window position and size to fill the screen, with the title bar and menu above the top of the screen.

Nope. You can maximize your form without doing anything. But if you want it fullscreen, you'll have to do everything to set it up yourself.

why not set FormBorderStyle to none, WindowState to maximized, MinimizeBox and MaximizeBox to false.
that should do ya.

From his question, I assumed he wanted to go between a windowed app and a fullscreen app. In either case, he has to make those changes himself and manage the tracking of the state his window is in. There's isn't a single method call that will do everything for him.

the properties of the font is read only properties...
how can i set these properties.

You'll have to create a new Font object. You can use the properties from the existing object you have to fill in the new Font object's constructor parameters, changing the ones you want to have different values.
