No, you can't change properties of the web application using FTP.

Try renaming the HTML file that does the SSI to .shtm or .shtml . If you have SSI's enabled, this should work.

Thanks for the suggession!
Yes i know .shtml file will solve the problem. I am working with two website one running on Linux where all pages are made of .shtml and one on windows where more or less 100 pages are there made in html. change all 100 html file to shtml will waste of time, that site on search engine will hamper too.
I will start one more website also. either on linux or windows, but i want to clarify before that if i make .html file can I use that 'include code' SSI?
if you know any other please let me know.
thanks once again for all cooperation.

In that case, the only option you really have is to either add a mime type or application mapping on the site. And, the only way to do that would be to logon to the server or remote connect thru IIS Manager.

This is basically, what Guffa mentioned. Do you have access to the server? If it's not your server, then you'll have to contact your hosting provider about it.

Many many thanks both of you!
Yes as I can't find that option from where i can Map HTML as shtml into my server control panel, its better to ask my hosting provider.
Thanks once again for your help.

Hi dear , thanks for your help
It is a current page,I have one page in all site and I want to disable the back button that is in the top cornner of the IE window.

I don't think you can disable the toolbars in the current window. I'm pretty sure you can only do that in new windows that you create.

Hi
please give me your solution for it

Are you wanting to know how to open a new window without the toolbar? Just so you know, there's no way to disable any one button. You'll have to remove the entire toolbar. And, even if you do that, that doesn't stop people from using Alt+(left) , Alt+(right) , and Backspace . My suggestion is that you find a better way of dealing with the back button, rather than removing it. I understand that sometimes you can't, but it's usually a better solution.

How to access objects declared with the <object> in the code behind.
C# ASP.Net-1.1 and to set its parameters
Thanks in advance.

You can't as they don't exist on the server side, they only exist in the browser.
You can put javascript code on the page, that will access the object.

Specify an id and runat="server" and you should be able to access the object.
<object id="myObject" runat="server">...</object> Then, in code-behind, you can instantiate a new protected field called myObject as an HtmlGenericControl . You should then be able to access the field in the code-behind.

Note: This only gives access to the server object that creates the element that will create the object, not the object itself.

i wana have upload source and post others field of my database in same form , and then when i user request.form("txt") , it produce me this error!!!
Cannot use Request.Form collection after calling BinaryRead.
i waste much times on net to find way , but non of them are useful!
help me. thanks.

You can't use Request.Form, as the form data is sent along with the file data. The upload component will read the form data when the file data is read, and you have to ask the component for the form data. Upload components usually have a Form method that works similar to Request.Form.

hi all,
happy new year
i have a form taht has a ddl set to autopostback and enableviewstate to true, when i set breakpoint in selectedindexchanged event the index is always 0.
how do i maintain the selected index of the selected item in the list after the ddl has posted the form please ?
kind regards,
g00fy

ok found problem,
for other ppl's reference ... i was databinding the ddl in page load and getting its index in the selectedindedchanged event.
so i changed it to ...
1. create private instance variable for selectedindex
2. move databinding of ddl into page_prerender (cause its fired after load and selectedindexchanged)
3. in selectedindexchanged event i set instance var to the index
4. in page_prerender, set selctedindex of ddl to instance var, after binding is complete
regards,
g00fy

Hi g00fyman,
Just wondering, do you need to bind the ddl on every post? because the best practice is to enclose the binding in an if statement like this:
if(!this.IsPostBack){
ddl.DataBind();
}
This way you only bind the ddl the first time the user enters the page, and viewstate takes care of keeping the selectedindex. Just wondering if you know this, since your change is kind of... awkward.

The upload component that you want to use has to be installed on the server.
