hi everyone
I'm writing an applciation in wich I use a toggle button. On the button is a picture:
me.ToggleButton.picture = new bitmap(application.startuppath & "\afbeeldingen\min.png"
Now the button has to be set disabled on startup. So i write the following code:
me.Togglebutton.enabled=false
It works, but the picture on my button becomes a gray rectangle??? (so I don't see my picture anymore when disabled)
Anyone any ideas

You can't use a VB variable in an SQL query, the database can't access the variables that you have declared in your program. You have to put the value of the variable into the string.

b { font-weight: normal; }

You can pass them with no problem. You just ned to format them correctly for example, if the value is an integer you pass it like this:
"select * from table where colID = " & IntVar & ""
if it is a string
"select * from table where Colval = '" & StringVar & "'"
There are more but i cant remember them all. If you google you should be able to find more.

Hi Arshaad,
Plz specify the database ur querying.
I think u'll need to check the datatype of the variable STD and the field stdID in the table ICTConcepts, and also ur connection that it is pointing to the correct database.
Thanx & Regards.

I'd like some advice on how to print reports in vb.net - I'm using the printdocument's e.graphics.drawstring method with tabs as shown in the Quickstarts, but need some help to keep the strings within the tab stops
eg.
dim line as string
line = item1 & vbtab
line &= item2 & vbtab
line &=item3 & vbtab
e.graphics.drawstring(line, etc...
this works great until one of the items exceeds the width of the tabstop and throws the rest of the line out of alignment. Any ideas please?
I would also appreciate any info on how to use the vsflexgrid in Visual Studio 2003, links to documentation or helpful sites. I am developing an add-on for an accounting package and need to simulate invoice item lines with ellipsis buttons to look up codes etc - what is the best/easiest control or approach to use in this case
Thanks
Dave Curtiss

Thank U
As I 'm a C# developer I just tried it in C# and got the solution ,just posted it
Any way language is not a constraint, logic is important!

Yes, you have right "logic is important" but most important is to give exact solution by exact languge.

I am using Crystal Report in a VB.NET application. The report size that I have used is A4. The report is getting printed properly on a A4 size paper. But some users they want to print the same report on paper size smaller than A4 size (because the printer is a small printer). The problem is that when they want to print it in a small size paper, a part of the report is getting printed. I want the report/printing area to be adjusted based on Printer Selected.
Is there any way to do so. Please help.

Dear Friends,
I am using in my VB6 Project so many times SQL Query 'Like' Operator. But really I am confused about the use of % and *. some time when I uses like '%Str%' it works fine and sometime it doesn't. It means I have to check every like operator query twice. once with % and once with *.
My database is Access and front end is VB6.
Your quick response will be highly appreciated.
Thanks

These are called wild card characters in Sqlserver
When u use * it fetches all the attributes from the table
when u use % it selects the fields that contains the data inside %'test'%
But don't use * in ur select statements even u are retrieving all the columns from the table

But he's not useing SQL Server, he is using Access.

Other databases, like SQL Server and MySQL, uses % for wildcard. Access uses either * or %, at least in most cases, and at least some versions of Access.
It sounds a bit strange if the same version of Access handles this differently in certain queries, but strange is not really surprising when it comes to Access... Have you noticed any patterns in the behaviour, like a difference between using Text and Memo fields?

Are you mixing DAO and ADO code?
Normally access uses * as a wildcard but if you use ADO to access it you need to use %.
So a query in the Query designer in access will always be * but 'normally' (you should be using ADO really) in code it will be %. The exception is DAO which is an older access method is closely tied to jet and is in some case much faster and better for dealing with access databases will use * as it is so closely linked to the Jet engine.
