Does that mean that your form launches a new form that shows the file, or do you want to view Word and Excel files within your app ( that is, within your program window ) ?

OK - I thought so. This will become possible with the new XML formats for Office 2007, in the meantime, the best you can do is to use COM or ( for the newer versions ) .NET to embed/control Excel/Word within your app. It can't be done so that it works for PCs without office installed.

Hey guys,
My question is simple. How do I delete repeating characters? Say I have the string "Hello World" and after deleting ALL repeating characters (not just adjacent ones) the new string would be HeloWrd. I'm thinking of using a nested 'for' loop to compare each character to the one after it, but it's not working. Here's what I have so far... I appreciate your help!
for(i=0;i

Use the "Ignore HTML" option when you post code that contains <. Now half of your loop statements are missing.

And another thing: Why should the space be removed? It's not a repeated character.

This is what I came up with, but I only tested it with the "Hello World" and "This is a test" sample so far.
Please test it with different strings
string test = "Hello World";
StringBuilder b = new StringBuilder(test);
int removeCount = 0;
for (int i = 0; i < test.Length; i++)
{
if (test.IndexOf(test[i]) != -1 && i > test.IndexOf(test[i]))
{
b.Remove(i-removeCount, 1);
removeCount++;
}
}
test = b.ToString();

Hi!
You could serialize it using a BinarySerializer and then convert the byte[] into a base64-encoded string that's written to the XML file.
Reading is simply the other way 'round.

Hello
You can save it in stream, then get array of bytes, then save array of bytes in CDATA section of xml file.

Greetings:
How can i determine the system requirements of an application i developed?, especially in the RAM departement.

Well, your minimum requirements are those of the .NET framework. Anything beyond that you'll need to test manually; no magic formula here. You can use Virtual PC to test against different software installs. IIRC, VPC allows you to configure how much RAM the virtual PC instance sees, thus allowing you to test against different memory amounts without physically removing memory from your PC.

Greetings:
Thanks, Judah Himango, i kinda thought that, magic formulas are like a dream to programmers, i`ll try testing it in a virtual PC.

Hello,
I have a problem with the toolbar in visual studio 2005, when I compile and run my application in the 'Debug' Configuration everything is fine, but when i switch the configuration to 'Release' the images in my toolbar simply dissapear (I only the text next to the images, but no images).
Anyone have an Idea what might be wrong with that?

Hi grep2
I think it could be from image url that you set. make sure the address is correct. be careful that if you use of any related address with your project address it is different in release and debug mode.
let me know if it is useful

Hello,
I use the images from a ImageList, there also other controls which use images from the same ImageList and they are displayed properly. So I guess it has nothing to do with the address.
But thank you for taking your time to answer my question, although the problem is still not solved.

Hey all, I have a few realy importent questions that are pausing my program.
I REALY need some help, pleaseeeeee help!
1. I need to do a program, that when I tell it to, it will restart the program and update from the click-once auto-update.
How is it possible from inner-C# programming? (from inside the program - events)
2. I have an IP of a counter-strike server.
I need to check if the server exists (responding), and if it does, to check if it has password (and if possible to check if the password is correct by what I give it), and the num of ppl playing atm.
These three are for the ones that know how to use a Thresher's SharkBite.IRC library:
3. How can I easly see if a user is in a channel, from a UserInfo sent in a PrivateMessage?
4. How can I check a state (@p, Vo+ced or regular) of a user, from a UserInfo sent in a PublicMessage?
5. How can I change my usermode to +x if I don't have a usermode like that?
6. How can I go to the last page I visited? Is this good?:
Response.Redirect(Page.PreviousPage.Request.RawUrl);
If you can provide a snifft of a part of code that would help even more!
Thanks ALOT!
NaNg.

If you don't get the replies that you want to your question, think over what you might do differently rather than just copying it and pasting it in a new post.
