You don't need to use Partiton Magic. When booting from cd or DVD, Instalation will give you nice options. (Althou it is confusing).
edit: Did you tried with the newest version.

Yes Ubuntu 6.10 is now installed in my hard drive. I used though the automatic installation than the custom one..

Hi,
I need to make an application autorun from a USB device. Can that be done without being dependent on another application on the host system? I have seen some posts in this forum from '03, but it seems the poster never got an answer that I could use for my case.
I would appreciate any help,

You should be able to use an Autorun.inf file, just like on CDs.

Matrix is right, it's the same on a USB drive as it is on an CD. Autorun.inf won't do you any good if the host O/S has AutoRun turned off though.

Thanks, guys. However, to quote from MSDN: Autorun.inf files are not supported under Microsoft Windows XP for drives that return DRIVE_REMOVABLE from GetDriveType. It just doesn't work.

Interesting. On both of my USB keys, XP scans them looking for AutoRun.inf. I just tried it with putting a small AutoRun on one of them, just starting Notepad, and it worked perfectly.

Yes, it is interesting. I can't figure out what might distinguish your system from mine. I am running WinXp Pro SP2. Do you have some sort of 3rd party or MS application that supports this functionality? I downloaded an application from another website that gives me this functionality, but I would have to propagate that application to every platform in our network in order for this to work. Not workable!

I never explicitly installed anything to add this support that I know of. Unless.....PowerToys for XP, maybe?

I have a system running SBS 2003 R2, I will be having some much better hardware (3Ghz HT P4 with raid vs 1.3 Ghz TBird barebones) available soon. The TBird system is old, not very fast, and not always reliable. How would I go about transfering control of my domain to the new system?

I am running SBS (full Active Directory/Exchange etc) on Computer A, Computer A is old and sucks. Computer B is new(er) and doesn't suck. I want to make Computer B my SBS server and get rid of Computer A, but I don't want to loose all my Active Directy logins/config/etc or my mail/calander/etc in exchange. Hopefully that makes sense.

Hi,
I am the administrator of my system.My system is in network.I don't know Why a read-only property is set to my project Folder.
I have Visual Studio workspace in that folder . I have created VC++ project .Now, When I try to add new Functions using the workspace I am getting error saying that "Add/Remove Operation is Impossible because the codeelement CMYdialog is ReadOnly" .
Is there any way where I can remove the ReadOnly Property?
Any Suggestions would be helpful.

Right-click the project folder then pick Properties. Clear the Read-Only checkbox, then click OK. When the dialog comes up asking "Confirm attribute changes?", make sure you click the option that says "Apply changes to this folder, subfolders and files", then click OK.

I deleted the current user account inadvertently, and later I can log on as that user by create a same one but a new desktop environment was created, how can I restore that previous desktop environment?

You'll have to be logged in as an Administrator user...
Right-click MyComputer and pick Properties, then the User Profiles tab. If the old profile is still there you can click on it, then click the Copy To button to copy it to the profile of new ID you're using.
Failing that, you can go into the C:\Documents and Settings folder and find the UserID folder of the old ID you were using. Copy everything in that folder, except the NTUSER.* files!!, to the new UserID folder.

Generally for Win32, it is 4096 bytes.
However, you should determine it for a given platform by calling GetSystemInfo, which will fill in a SYSTEM_INFO structure for you. The page size is given by the dwPageSize value.
