SqlTransaction is for transacting multiple queries on a SQL Server not the DataRow .

There are several apps across our company that need to access a WebService that is really a SQL Server 2005 SOAP endpoint. A domain service account was created for it so we wouldn't have to enable access for every single user. Initially, this user was setup as being allowed to logon to the server that SQL Server 2005 was running on. However, when we tried to access it, nothing worked. After monkeying around for a few days, in order to make it work we finally had to enable this service account logon priviledges to the computer calling the webservice. It turned out we didn't even need logon priviledges to the server.
This seems completely backwards to everyone here, and will be a real pain to administer if it is the case.
Here's some code that's similar to what we're doing to access it:
private DataSet GetInformation()
{
wsSQL service = new wsSQL();
service.Credentials = new NetworkCredentials("user", "pass");
return service.CallWebMethod();
}
The above code works only if the "user" has logon access to the local computer. From the looks of how this works, it's almost as if the NetworkCredentials uses the local computer to log onto the network, then passes those credentials on. Is this correct? If so, is there anyway to use the domain user to logon to the server and use those credentials?

Hi Guys,
Question please, how do you skip to a particular node on the tree when the tree loads?
Thanks in advance.

Have a guess. Go on... What do you think will select a particular node? Yup, it's SelectedNode

What environment are you using? Windows, Web? You can't use Tree.SelectedNode = ???

I have tried this and it doesn't work for some weird reason, basically what I am doing is when a node is modified, e.g inactivated the imageindex is changed and hence I tried refreshing by reloading the tree to show the new image index, it does show the new imageindex but until I expand the tree and go to that node by clicking my way through. Basically, I want to reload the tree and jump back to the node where I was before the reload.
Please help!!!

Well then, that's a bit different then just selecting a node.
There is no way that I'm aware of to expand the tree down to the node in question without actually calling expand on the parents of that node.

This is all far too vague - we don't know anything about the architecture of your application, the data model you are using etc. Your question is too general and so any meaningful answer would likely take many pages.
You have to be specific. What exactly do you need help with?

We are not going to do that - In order to do that would take more space that is wise for a forum post.
You must try first, and when you get stuck you can come for help but we are not going to give you the "entire" code for the "whole" project. Not unless you are willing to pay us - we are not here to do your work for you. We are here becuase we like to help people, but we are only willing to help those that at least make an attempt themselves.

What have you done so far? You may want to start by scoping out the project in more detail. Then building the app is pretty straight forward from there.

I have XmlNodeList as result from Xpath query to already XmlDocument.
This node list can get "Attributes", "Element Nodes" etc. I want to show that XmlNodeList in properly indented form in a richtextBox.
I have found a XmlReader setting in which i can set indentation true. But how i will use it with XmlNodeList.
Please guide. Thank you.

I would like to build an application to capture a webcam output every 30 minutes or so.
The particular webcam seems to use javascript to run a native app which generates a png file.
When viewing from IE or Firefox, the image is visible and can be save with a right click, save as.
My first attempt was to follow the steps outlined in
"How to use HttpWebRequest and HttpWebResponse in .NET"
but the result was a copy of the html page source.
Ok, clearly my app needs "browser-like" abilities to interpret the html and javascript.
The "Web Browser" control doesn't seem to have the properties needed to capture the image.
Can anyone suggest an approach for C#.NET?
Thank you,
Mark

I'm playing around with some image processing. What I have is a picture of an object on a (mostly) white background and what I want to do is determine the overall color of the object. I checked out this excellent article:
http://www.codeproject.com/cs/media/edge_detection.asp
And it looks like the difference edge detect works really well for my pictures. If I run it on my image I get a black image with a bright outline of the object I'm looking for. What I would like to do is use this image to determine which pixels are part of the object and which are part of the background and then apply that to the original image. My problem is that I'm not sure what the best method is for determining which pixels are within the bright boundary and which are not (since the points are black on both sides!). Does anybody have any suggestions here? Or maybe I should try something different altogether?
I thought maybe Region or GraphicsPath could help, but I'm not sure how to use them.
Thanks

Possible algorithm:
1) determine closed contour (seems like you have that already) and color it
2) find one pixel inside contour
3) fill with contour color starting from there (there are some good flood fill articles on CP)
4) now "AND" this result with original
If you need the other half of the image, make step 2 look for a pixel outside !

That's a very good point. I guess I should view it at a flood fill problem and go from there. Thanks!

how can i convert VS2005 projects to VS2003, somebody send url:
http://www.codeproject.com/macro/vsconvert.asp
it contain one zip file it converts vs2005 projects to vs2003. but the tools also they develop in VS2005 but i want that type of tool in VS2003.
this is haneef

Just install the 2.0 framework and the EXE will work. Then you can use the app to convert the project from 2.0 to 1.1.
If they are using 2.0 specific code, you need S.O.L. insurance.

The article you refer to doesn't convert VS2005 to VS2003, but rather VS.NET 7.0 to VS.NET 7.1.
You want something like this: Whidbey to Everett Project Converter (VS2005 to VS2003)[^]

Hi-
I'm about to embark on a new project, developing a couple of different tools and I don't know what C# Winforms Control set to use. In the past I've used Syncfusion controls (in my day job) to create Outlook style applications. I've also used Component One, but they're also too expensive.
Also, I now prefer the look and feel of an Active Panel style approach where the application has a container (I Guess its an MDI Parent) and a user can turn off/on panels and drag them around, and access all the panels at once.
I guess what I'd like to know is, what GUI Components do you use? What can people recommend? I'd prefer something free or very cheap, and something that looks good! I guess those things may be at odds.
Any advice/tips/ideas you have would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers

We're using DevComponents DotNetBar. It looks good, and doesn't cost a lot of money, but it does get upgraded frequently (plus you can use it to mimic the new Office look and feel).
