i want to read and play it.i want a sample to decode or play wma and wmv files.
sorry because i dont know where to ask it.
thank you.

wma and wmv files are Advanced Systems Format (ASF) files.
ASF files are covered in the Windows Media Format 11 SDK[^]
There's sample apps in the SDK as well.
If you choose to use DirectShow to play these files there's the DirectShow[^]
SDK (which is now part of the Platform SDK).
If you want to use Windows Media Player there's the Windows Media Player 11 SDK[^]

I hope a message is sent to parent window when user right clicks a button on CToolBar - so I can display a pop up menu associated with the button.
can a button on CToolBar send message with mouse right-clicking?
if not, any idea to modify CToolBar?
thx

A toolbar sends a NM_RCLICK notification through a WM_NOTIFY message when the user right-clicks
on the toolbar. To get the message in your parent window, add a OnNotify() override to the
parent's class, something like:
BOOL CMyWnd::OnNotify(WPARAM wParam, LPARAM lParam, LRESULT* pResult)
{
if (wParam == ID_MYTOOLBAR)
{
NMMOUSE *pNMMouse = (NMMOUSE *)lParam;
if (pNMMouse->hdr.code == NM_RCLICK)
{
return TRUE;
}
}
return CWnd::OnNotify(wParam, lParam, pResult);
}
|
|
|
|
|
Now that I've had some caffeine, I thought maybe an easier way would be to let MFC do some of the
work
ON_NOTIFY(NM_RCLICK, ID_MYTOOLBAR, OnToolbarRClick)
...
void CMyWnd::OnToolbarRClick(NMHDR *pNMHdr, LRESULT *pResult)
{
NMMOUSE *pNMMouse = (NMMOUSE *)pNMHdr;
*pResult = (LRESULT)TRUE;
}

Hi friends,
I am new bie need to know that How to use a unicode charset dll in any vc++ application.
Thanks in advance
|
|
|
|

change CharacterSet property in your C++ projekt settings (VS2005) to "use unicode charset".
If you are not using VS 2005. Add "_UNICODE" and "UNICODE" define to your preprocessor defines.

Hi
I have a ListCtrl for which I have added LVS_EX_CHECKBOXES. My requirement is whenever I check/uncheck the checkbox of the ListControl, a notification is needed whether the item is checked or not or any related info based on which I will carry some other task . For this which function will be useful.Hope I am clear.
Thanks in advance.

A LVN_ITEMCHANGED notification is sent to the control's parent.
This article may help: Adding Checkboxes to a list control[^]
especially the section "How to get notification when an item is checked / unchecked".

maybe u change resource ID of the control?
use class wizard to delete member of the CListBox then add it again.
I just guess so.

If insert another combobox and declare a variable for it what happens?

|

Make sure you are trying to use the combo box after the base class version of OnInitialUpdate(...) has been called, or your controls may not have been created or attached-to yet.

Hello,
Recently I have been involved in a debate as to what environment (C# or C++) is better for developing a highly scalable Completion Ports based server capable of handling thousands of simultaneous connections (namely, its network layer). The issue is still open. I would really like to hear opinion of the community with all the pros and cons (within boundaries of the task, i.e. - network layer) of both environments. All opinions are very much appreciated.
Thanks in advance. Dennis.

FWIW, I believe that C# (or at least earlier versions of C#) did not have direct access to the APIs for using I/O Completion Ports - you had to basically do the C# equivalent of LoadLibrary(...) /GetProcAddress(...) (i.e. P/Invoke) to get to and make use of the functions.
Personally, I have always believed that if you have to use P/Invoke for the meat of your application, you are likely trying to wedge it into the wrong platform.
Peace!

Write a prototype in both and test. Then report those tests.
I'll put all my money on C++.

Thats's what I'm about doing. I myself believe that C++ is a by far better tool for this particular task.
