Reason for this is I'm keen to have "CP latest articles" on my homepage, but would like more control than setting a couple of global vars. This will make it easier for article authors to respond to user questions quickly without going through each article looking for new comments. More than once I've missed a comment because it was anonymous. Sometimes the reply notices bounce back though, either your mail server is down temporarily, or there is another problem that causes it to bounce.
