hi all,
i am beginner in vc++.
i want to diplay images of the devices dynamically that are registered in to the network.
how to do that..
and can u people suggest me the best ebooks for learning vc++6 with practical xamples and also the best sites for practising vc++ 6.

tnx 4 ur reply.
my question in detail:

i am desiginig a gui related to networks.
in this when pc's comes into the network they shuld get displayed in server...i mean if there are 3 pc's in network then these shuld be displayed in the server UI...similarly if there are "n" pc's then these "n" pc's shuld be displayed in the serever.

For starters, create a dialog-based project, and add a list control to it. Turn on the control's LVS_REPORT style. Before messing around with images, get your code working such that it will display the various network members. Then, add images to the first column. You'll need to create an image list (see CImageList) of all the images you plan on using.

You have to open (using CreateFile) the driver that is associated with the device. Then you can use ReadFile and WriteFile to read or write data to the driver.
But it depends also of the kind of device you are using. Can you provide more information ?

Well, that depends on the driver for your specific device.
If your device's USB driver acts like a serial-port then you need the ReadFile() and WriteFile() (just like in a serial port)
Otherwise, you'll have to refer to the documentation/spec of your device ...

hi all,
i am doing a project..and i need to display the informations of a user accounts of the system and the informations about the local groups of the system.i found that the APIs NetUserEnum() and NetLocalGroupEnum() can be used ..but i couldnt display the result..there were a lot of errors..
please..anybody help me.. i want to display it on a button click to a textbox.
