I'm using Ms FrontPage 2000 to design my homepage. There is some special components in FrontPage. How can I move it to my homepage directory??? For example, I use "theme" in a page (abc.html). But when i move abc.html to the homepage directory and load it, it cannot show the theme of the page. One more example, I use a Hover button (when mouse pointer is on the particular button, the color will change...etc.) and load it in IE, it said "class fphover not found.."
do you know what i can do?

I need to account for special characters ", <, >, #, %, &, and space. For example if I have a string containing a "<", I need to add 4 instead of 1 since < = <. So is there a function in JS that reads the string, looks for these special characters, and returns the number of ocurrences. I am using while loops and testing for each character at the time using indexOf. I tried to used .match, which returns an array, but .length was giving me problems.
Any suggestions??
Thanks

Hi everyone!
I have developed a C++ Server COM component which uses the WinInet API to get a URL using OpenInternetURL and InternetReadFile. I Installed the component in my web server, and I call this component from an ASP page to which i pass the URL my component is supposed to retrieve in the query string. It all works perfectly right for asp pages outside the web site where my component is being instatiated, but when i try to reach another asp page from the same web site, IIS just hangs, appearing to be under some kind of deadlock. Strangely, the web server doesn't hang if I make a request to a HTML page located within the same web site where my component is being called.
Does anybody have any idea of what's going on? My component code is pretty straight forward. It just opens a given URL, reads the file, and closes the connection. Should I do anything else?
Thanks in advance.

Escape them with a backslash before each reserved character that you want to treat as literal.

How can I run a seperate program (xxx.exe) from an ASP application, AND, pass parameters to it on the command line (it is a console application). I also need to be able to return a string to the calling ASP application/page.
Firstly, can it be done (I would imagine so?)
Secondly, how? Just a quick explanation or example in ASP (please, JScript - VBScript is far too slow).
Yours,
David Wulff

Does anyone have experience with this?
Cool or UnCool?
Thanks

its cool and works ok if you use "standard" asp code in your pages with a odbc connection for example. If you use components or activex objects it wont work.

I have a single row, two cell wide table. One cell is 33% wide and the other 67% wide. What I do is insert an arbitarially sized picutre in the 33% wide cell. Using the IMG command I set just the width to 100% so as to fill the full 33% width of the cell. Therefore I assume that the picture should shrink / expand depending on the width of the screen / cell.
This works fine in Netscape BUT in IE5 the picture seem to take up about 55% of the width of the screen rather than 33%. Why? I've tried using fixed pixel widths and they work fine.........
Thanks for any help at all
<TABLE WIDTH="100%"><br />
<TR><br />
<TD WIDTH="33%"><IMG SRC="xxx" WIDTH="100%"></TD><br />
<TD WIDTH="67%"> </TD><br />
</TR><br />
</TABLE>

I'm using CDONTS to send email (Win2k Pro). Everything works fine, except it ignored my line ends ("\r\n") and adds it when it wants to, which is after about twenty characters. This looses all the formamting of the messages.
How can I specify the line length, WITHOUT using HTML?
Is it possible?
Cheers,
Vesta

When typing an address into the IE address bar, if you hit CTRL+ENTER "www." will if needed be added to the start of what you typed, and ".com" will be added to the end of what you typed. E.g. Try typing "CodeProject" and then CTRL+ENTER and you will see what I mean.
OK, nice touch, BUT I live in England and use a lot of .co.uk sites. Anyone know how I could change this feature to append .co.uk rather than .com ??
Thanks
