Escape them with a backslash before each reserved character that you want to treat as literal.

How can I run a seperate program (xxx.exe) from an ASP application, AND, pass parameters to it on the command line (it is a console application). I also need to be able to return a string to the calling ASP application/page.
Firstly, can it be done (I would imagine so?)
Secondly, how? Just a quick explanation or example in ASP (please, JScript - VBScript is far too slow).
Yours,
David Wulff

Hi!
Search for the component ASPExec. I think you can find it at serverobjects.com!

Thank you, ASPExec does exactly what I needed.

Does anyone have experience with this?
Cool or UnCool?
Thanks

its cool and works ok if you use "standard" asp code in your pages with a odbc connection for example. If you use components or activex objects it wont work.

I have a single row, two cell wide table. One cell is 33% wide and the other 67% wide. What I do is insert an arbitarially sized picutre in the 33% wide cell. Using the IMG command I set just the width to 100% so as to fill the full 33% width of the cell. Therefore I assume that the picture should shrink / expand depending on the width of the screen / cell.
This works fine in Netscape BUT in IE5 the picture seem to take up about 55% of the width of the screen rather than 33%. Why? I've tried using fixed pixel widths and they work fine.........
Thanks for any help at all
<TABLE WIDTH="100%"><br />
<TR><br />
<TD WIDTH="33%"><IMG SRC="xxx" WIDTH="100%"></TD><br />
<TD WIDTH="67%"> </TD><br />
</TR><br />
</TABLE>

Hello,
I would like to prevent people to just copy al the links on my site. Please note that the "prevent right click scrips' is too easy to avoid.

I'm using CDONTS to send email (Win2k Pro). Everything works fine, except it ignored my line ends ("\r\n") and adds it when it wants to, which is after about twenty characters. This looses all the formamting of the messages.
How can I specify the line length, WITHOUT using HTML?
Is it possible?
Cheers,
Vesta

When typing an address into the IE address bar, if you hit CTRL+ENTER "www." will if needed be added to the start of what you typed, and ".com" will be added to the end of what you typed. E.g. Try typing "CodeProject" and then CTRL+ENTER and you will see what I mean.
OK, nice touch, BUT I live in England and use a lot of .co.uk sites. Anyone know how I could change this feature to append .co.uk rather than .com ??
Thanks

I have an include file for every page of my site which contains the meta tags for the site.
My question is: When my site is spidered, taking the default page as an example, does the spider compile the page - including the header file containing the meta tags and then index it?
Basically my understanding is that a spider works like a browser - compiles the page - grabs the html - then the page gets indexed.
any clarification would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

Hi,
I need to set a date, but I can not use the CDate function to convert one string to date because I have different servers in different idioms ( so for one month is the second, for the other month can be the first ???), is there any function to set a date with three parameters ( day , month, year)...
Is there any function to modify only the day of a month ( for example if the day is 16 I want to set it to 1).
Thanks for all Bye !
Braulio
