Hi,
What is the difference between Server.Transfer and Response.Redirect?
If possible please explain me with example.
Thanks to All in Advance.

difference between Server.Transfer and Response.ReDirect
1) Such as--Server.Transfer can not be used to go to a page of a different website whereas Response.Redirect can do.
2) Response.Redirect can be used for both .html and .aspx pages but Server.Transfer works only for aspx pages.
3) Response.Redirect needs a extra round trip...
Server.Transfer doesn't tell the browser to request page default2.aspx. It just sends page default2.aspx, so e.g., browser address bar still shows the original page's URL.
Response.Redirect sends message to browser saying that the browser should request some other page so basically it means that:
1. Browser is on page default1.aspx on which there is a Response.Redirect("") command which means that the server sends response (message) to browser that browser should request some other page default2.aspx
2. Browser sends request to server in order to get this page default2.aspx
3. Server sends page default2.aspx to browser
Roundtrip:
Roundtrip is the combination of a request being sent to the server and response being sent back to browser.
Request is the message that the browser sends to the server and Response is the message the server sends back to the browser.

one more....
Response.Redirect does not transfers the query string values and form values of the current page.
Server.Transfer allows you to transfer the query string values and form variables to other page. Best way to transfer values from one page to another using the preserveForm parameter of the Server.Transfer method.

I want to add a delegate to each listbox (10 of total on one page), in order to handle selectedIndexChanged event as following:
lstbox.SelectedIndexChanged += new EventHandler(OnSelectedIndexChanged);
private void OnSelectedIndexChanged(object sender, EventHandler e)
{
}
I got error like this:
Error 1 No overload for 'OnSelectedIndexChanged' matches delegate 'System.EventHandler'
Can some one help me.
Or any suggestion on what's the best way to handle 10 data list on one page. (display and editable).
Thank you in advance.

You would help yourself if you spoke English here.
Google has tons of info on web services, they are kind of trivial to use.

I am wondering how to add a attribute to an ASP control so that the attribute will show up in the HTML when it is rendered
|
|
|
|
|
Control1.Attributes.Add(string key, string value);
Pretty simple.

for some reason, i dont see it showing up when it is renedered. I am using this in a control. i did this :
Me.Attributes.Add("name", "somename")

Seems like you are using VB.NET since you're using the Me keyword. I'm a C# guy, but I assume Me is a reference to the Page and as far as I know, I don't think that has an attributes collection. Maybe you could provide more information on exactly what you're tryign to do?

Hi all.
I'm essentially being forced to create an asp.net upload script for an app at work. This is no problem and I found it pretty easy to do. However, I need two variables passed to that page from an already existing app page. I don't have the time necessary to rewrite 10,000+ lines of code into asp.net, I just need the asp classic post to go to the .net page.
I can't seem to find a way of grabbing that variable when its posted. Specifically, in this case I launch a popup window on click and it loads the .aspx script there. Things I've read point towards setting session variables of the values you want to use in the .net script. So in my asp classic script, I use ajax onclick to set the asp session variable, then call the function to popup the window with the .net script.
However a simple response.write(session("variablename")) prints absolutely nothing to the screen. (sessions are enabled in .net)
I have a feeling this is an extremely easy answer, but no formal training on .net makes it weird for me and I haven't found a solution online.
Also, is there a way to avoid the "warning page expired" error when clicking on the link in the url bar and hitting enter? I'm not using back. I just want to load the page as if i was loading it for the first time, but it gives me that error and tells me to reload. but reloading will resubmit the form, and i don't want that. I have to close IE to load the page again.
Thanks in advance!

The Classic ASP and ASP.NET sessions are different instances, so unless you go through the hassle of trying to synchronize them then I wouldn't use session. Why not just use the querystring to pass the data to the aspx page?
On the aspx you can then just do the following: (C#)
string variable = Request.QueryString["StringName"];
