This is a truly beginner question. It is the abc of web development.
well all you need is to save the path in the sql database. using the insert statement. You can do this either by a direct sql statement or by using a stored procedure. all sql commans are available in the Sqlclient namspace.
Then all it takes is to read the stored url from the database and put it as the imageurl of either an image tag (html) or an imageplaceholder tag (asp.net)
I suggest that you get a good book in order to get this basic information.
Should you need any help contact me.

"WSE 2.0 SP3 is also supported on .NET Framework 2.0. WSE 2.0 SP3 does not have design time support with Visual Studio 2005 and hence is not supported when used with Visual Studio 2005. WSE 2.0 SP3 only has design time support with Visual Studio 2003."

how to generate html report from asp.net in dotnet 2003
|

Well, you'd use a gridview for a tabular report. Otherwise, it depends on what you're looking for.

Hi to all,
I designed a webpage with asp and c#, in that I want to bind a group of images.
I place a dropdownlist,in that I binded India, US,UK. If the user selects the India means the images related to India should be displayed.
I am using sql server 2000 as backend, I stored the picture path, picture name and the corresponding country to the image also I stored.
I don’t know how to bind the image in the website.
Thanks

What do you mean by 'bind' ? Create a repeater that generates img tags with the paths that come back from your database request.

Sending email with .NET is really easy, there's tons of examples on the web. I forget the exact code, but google will tell you in seconds.

As Christian said, sending email with dot net is a matter of creating some objects. Plain and simple. The only thing to watch out is whether your smtp server requires authentication, which in that case you need to set the authentication parameters (still very easy).
Try googling on this matter to find examples. If you dont manage let me know but if you try I m sure you will find tons of examples

just set the visible property of your HyperLink to something like this:
visible='<%# !(Eval("DataFieldEval") is DBNull) %>'

check for the column content and disable using the below code
<itemtemplate>
<asp:hyperlink id="HyperLink1" text="View" target="_self" runat="Server" visible="<%# Not(Eval("AttachmentID") is DBNull.Value) %>"
="" navigateurl="<%# "Javascript:var PopUpWin = window.open(""PopUp.aspx?attID=" & Eval("AttachmentID") & """, ""x"",""width=350, height=300, menubar=No"")" %> ">

I encountered problem when trying to work with the Java
Plug-in. I compile my applet with J#, then add the component in my C# project. When I try to get the value of Java Vendor, I got Microsoft Corp, when I try to run the applet in purely HTML page, I got Sun Microsystems. I suppose it should use the Java plug-in to show
applets, but i think uses Microsoft JVM instead.
I have tried to solve this by setting a environment variable "JAVA_PLUGIN_WEBCONTROL_ENABLE" with value "TRUE", but still I got Microsoft Corp..
Please help...Thanks

This is probably a dumb question but is ASP.Net a Server side script or a client side script? I ask this because I'm doing Coop with a particular department in the Government (Canada) and they use ASP.Net in their websites and I was given a book to learn about it. I'm about 5 chapters in and the above question still lingers.

ASP.NET is a framework that runs on the server side. The book probably assumes that you know that html, css and javascript is all you want to be sending to the client.

Oh I hate Javascript, I'd do a basic "Hello World" with document.write and I'd get 5 errors that made no sense but Thanks.

The point of ASP.NET is that it is a factory that generates HTML and javascript. So, quite often you can do some cool stuff without writing your own script. Of course, sometimes you need to, and you can inject it into your pages in this instance.

Hello everyone,
I developed a web site with asp.net 2005 (c#). I put in app_code three directories that conatin my classes:
BIZ: contains bizuness classes
DAL: data access layer
MODEL: contains models of my database's table
When I run the project locally on my computer everything is allright. But I published the site, I get this error:
CS0246: The type or namespace name 'BIZ' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?)
This error is in a function like follow:
<br />
private void DisplayBlogLaUne(){<br />
BIZ.Blog o;<br />
o = new BIZ.Blog();<br />
Model.InfoBlog info;<br />
...<br />
}<br />
This site bugs on
BIZ.Blog o;
Could anyone tell me what's the problem?
