No one here is just going to give you fully working code. If you have tried to do this and have run into problems, post the problem you ran into and people will try to help; otherwise, try to do the work yourself first.
Also, using a subject of "Pleae help me Urgent" isn't likely to get you responses any faster, and in fact, may prevent you from getting responses at all. Every one answering questions on these forums does so on a volunteer basis and most (almost all) consider it rude to ask questions with subjects like this. Any question to the poster is usually urgent, but using a non-descriptive subject like this generally causes people to ignore the post.

You really should buy a book and work through it. Or at least read the guide on how to ask sensible questions.

How can i display (without Save/Open dialog) .doc file, stored in sql server 2005 like binary data (column type image), on .aspx page.
|
|
|
|

Set the content type to application/msword on the response object.

Yes i did. But i got Save/Open dialog instead to write content on page. I do not need to download .doc file, i need to display them on page.

A word document is only displayed inside the browser if the browser is set up display it that way. It's still not showed on the page, though.
If you really want to show it on the page, you have to convert it some format that can be displayed in a web page, like for example an image.

I'm stuck and hoping someone else can help.
I'm working on an ASP.NET app (C#). At one point, I need to create an WinHttpRequest object that uploads a file. Here is the code:
<br />
try<br />
{<br />
WinHttpRequest whr = new WinHttpRequest();<br />
whr.SetTimeouts( 0, 0, SendTimeout, ConnectTimeout );<br />
whr.Open( "POST", (( this.IsProduction ) ? LIVE_URL : DEV_URL), false );<br />
whr.SetRequestHeader( "ENCTYPE", "multipart/form-data" );<br />
whr.SetRequestHeader( "Name", "FileUpload);<br />
whr.Send( this.UploadFile.ToString() ); // create the content request<br />
whr.WaitForResponse( ResponseTimeout );<br />
ResponseText = whr.ResponseText;<br />
this.UploadFile.Uploaded = ( ResponseText != null && ResponseText.ToUpper().IndexOf( "SUCCESS" ) != -1 ) ? true : false;<br />
}<br />
catch ( Exception ex )<br />
{<br />
ResponseText = ex.Message;<br />
} // try/catch<br />
But for some reason the code just halts and doesn't come back after the line:
WinHttpRequest whr = new WinHttpRequest();
I've put code in before and after the line to log what is happening and the code up to that point works fine, and then it goes into the new WinHttpRequest and then nothing.
Oh, and it works _some_ of the time in this app and works consistently when the same code is used in other apps.
I am making a lot of new WinHttpRequest objects throughout the code, could that be a problem?
Any ideas or leads would be very helpful. Thanks in advance.

I have a grid view and I am binding the values from the database in a TemplateField code is as below:
<itemtemplate>
<asp:datalist id="DataList5" runat="server"
="" <itemtemplate="">
<asp:label id="Label1" runat="server" skinid="GridLabels"
="" text="<%# DataBinder.Eval(Container.DataItem, "Flag") %>">
The "Flag" contains only one value either Yes or No, but there are mulitiple values
like
Yes
Yes
Yes
Using the above code it displayes all the "Yes".
I want to only display One Value and i.e Yes and not multiple values
Any suggestions

Hi all,
We have crystal server version 11.5 and reports are published on this server.
The web based application using VS2005 accessess the crystal server and generates PDF and stores
in the appropriate folder in the C:\ of the application server.
when the website application is published, the PDF is not generated and
no file is saved in the appropriate file location of the published folder. Hence after deployment (publishing of the website)
the pdf is not dispalyed.
what could be the reason for the pdf not getting generated and stored in the appropriate location when it is accessed from a published folder, but works correctly from the solution file?

Please look at the code I am using:
foreach (GridViewRow rec in this.gvsqldesc.Controls[0].Controls)
{
DropDownList ddlval = new DropDownList();
ddlval = (DropDownList)rec.FindControl("ddlvalidation");
string str = ddlval.SelectedItem.Text;
}
