Where do I check for the messages print out by TRACE("messages")? The book I have says it will be in the "debug output window"; I don't see it / how do I turn it on?
If you know a more convenient way to output a string in a windows program for debugging reasons, let me know too.
Thanks.
John
edit: I'm using Windows2k and Visual C++.

It's only there ifg you start with F5 (debug) I prefer writing to disk with iostreams myself.

You can also try Debug View. You will see all messages emitted from TRACE in that.
You can also use _CrtSetReportHook if you want to see the output to a file.

but It don't have a ID column actually, it just has one column "Name".

You may want to use ALTER TABLE to add the column ID in your table. Then you do a simple SELECT.

Does anyone know of a free or open-source SDK (for Windows) for burning CDs? There are a number of (imho, expensive) commercial solutions available, but I'm looking for something that's free that will let me write data files to a CD-R(W).
Thanks,

Try searching MSDN for "NTFS ACL". There's also a sample called SIDCLEAN.C that should put you on the right track.

Hi,
I have to find some info like embedded and background pic's paths in HTML files.
The one way is to read the HTML page from file into a CString and use lots of CString::Find's and if's.
Is there any other way?
Thanks for your feedback
R.

I have an Wizard unmanaged VC++ app that I am using VS.NET to debug. I run the app and all my intented code is preform the wizard is shown, it works, and closes. But I was looking in the output window for something else and I saw the first-change exception text. I couldn't track for the code I add to the app that could cause the exception so should I treat it as a warning or continue to find the problem.
