Navigate Focus with Arrow Keys on Container
How to navigate focus using Arrow Keys only (no Tab/Shift-Tab) on following layout and in the same order
Panel mainPanel containsthe following Controls as
Panel p1 with buttons p1b1, p1b2, p1b3
Buttons b1, b2, b3
Panel p2
Panel p3 with buttons p3b1, p3b2, p3b3
ListBox L1
A screenshot of the above is available at http://img130.imageshack.us/img130/4610/btnlayoutpk1.png[^]
I understand that I need to set the tabIndex of individual Controls but dont quite figure out in which order they need to be set. Do I need to change the TabIndex of Panels or Individual Controls or both.
Any Suggestions?
Thanks...

hi all

on the same resolution on win/2000 it does not show full form. why is that ?

This is not clear.
How big is the form?
Are you maximizing the form?
How big is the difference XP/2K?
Is the task bar height the same?
is the system font (family & size) the same?
is the display resolution the same? (e.g.96 dpi, see Display Properties)
how about XPthemes? is it enabled in your app, does it exist on 2K?

Hey,
How would I change the strings of a text box (richTextBox1) from a button on a different form?
-- modified at 17:25 Sunday 4th November, 2007
Also how would i make the main parent form stay top most when another form's check box with the Code below in it is checked?
if (checkBox1.Checked == true)<br />
{ this.TopMost = true; }<br />
else<br />
{ this.TopMost = false; }
Do i need to change this.TopMost to form1.TopMost?

Rather than modify a post to add a new question you should start a new thread for a new thread.

Did you try it? What happened?
Also, you might want to consider giving your controls better names. "cehckBox1" is hardly descriptive.

I only change the names if i have multiple check box's, that is the only one so i didn't need to name it.
And thank you for the link.

That's not a valid excuse.

Maybe for you, but what works for me, goes for me.
It's not like i am making this program for someone else to view.
If i was, i would clarify it. But once again

Even when I write code that is just for me I try and maintain good standards. I never know when I might find it useful for something else and if it is of poor quality then it becomes useless. And you never know when it might be useful to show the code to a potential employer or incorporate in to some other application, however if it is a mess do you think you'll get the job or your team will appreciate the code. Also, maintaining two sets of standards makes life more difficult as you have to switch between them. It is better to have one set of standards and stick with that.
However, if it doesn't "work for you" then feel completely free to ignore my advice. But don't be surprise if at some point in the future it no longer "goes for you". If you remember the saying "An apple a day keeps the doctor away". What if one day you don't have an apple, but have a chocolate bar? Will the world come crashing down around you? No it won't. But what if, instead of an apple a day, you have a chocolate bar every day. Pretty soon you'll be wishing you had been eating apples.
Just saying... But feel free to ignore me - I've only been writing software for 24 years.

If the form with the checkbox is a child form. Then you should just be able to use:
this.Parent.TopMost = true;
My current favourite word is: Waffle
Cheese is still good though.

How do I make a textbox (textBox1) that acts like a password box, which means it has where you type and the text becomes "*"s, but still recognizes the text? Also, anything (articles...) that deals with changing and modifying any text would be appreciated. Thanks.

See the UseSystemPasswordChar [^] property.

Set the control's Text property.

Thanks! So simple. Any places/articles to learn on more modifications for text?

That question is too vague to give any answers. In what way did you intend to "change and modify" the text?
Experience is the sum of all the mistakes you have done.

Such as to limit the characters, or maybe cut out certain words; possibly coloring certain words and leaving the rest. But thanks for what I already learned.

There's a property for the maximum length, and you can handle the keypress event to reject keypresses, for example to make a numeric textbox. Just don't forget to check for Char.IsControl if you do that, so you accept arrows, etc.
MasterSharp wrote: possibly coloring certain words and leaving the rest
The rich text box may do that, a text box does not.
